They will make a jump next year just based on accountability, these type of coaches always do, but is it enough to make the playoffs? In that division probly no

I'm a little surprised that Ottawa didn't wait a little longer to see who else might become available once the playoffs are done.
Can't take that chance when Travis Green is available.

Green over Craig Berube?

Bit of a head scratcher (unless he turned it down).

That's my guess. Berube is holding out for an offer from a better spot, like Toronto.

It feels as though some teams can only be relevant if a generational player falls into their lap. Pretty sad that it's the only way certain teams can contend. Gotta respect teams like Carolina, Boston, and Dallas who can go far without bottoming out year after year.

Ottawa: Too cheap to hire a top coach, too cowardly to hire an unproven coach.

If Berube wanted to go there, or McLellan, they'd have been hired ASAP.

Maybe Seattle was looking at Green, or SJ, so they scooped him.

Hopefully another bad year and Brady demands a trade to his favourite Canadian city (his Dad's as well).

Yeah, New Jersey would also be a better spot than Ottawa but they also have a GM who stalled and stalled and stalled, ending up acquiring Jake Allen after it was too late instead of a number 1 goalie who could have changed their results. If they can acquire a goalie this offseason they would be a solid landing spot for any coach.
