I’m pretty sure there will be huge opposition to this, to the extent that there will likely be talk of another breakaway.

Well I'm worried that this might just let a bunch of the worst offenders off the hook. A sort of "we know you don't like these new regulations, but in consideration of us not relegating you to the 7th tier, you accept this going forward and we're even".

I believe in the Jays.

It sounds like a decent idea, but they first have to stop that one specific club from finding ways around all the rules.

Clearly you mean Everton with their recent spate of points deductions. Or maybe Forest? No? Then it must be Chelsea that you're talking about because they've even admitted they breached the regulations and are in loads of trouble currently (if the reports are accurate) and still haven't seen any ramifications.
I dunno...I can't think of who you'd be referring to otherwise!

Sounds like only three clubs voted against it and one abstention. Man City, Man Utd and Aston Villa with the no and Chelsea abstained.

Hit Everton with another few points deduction before calling it a day though. What’s fair is fair

Well it's not like you can give them 115 chances to finally get their act together!

This is hilarious. Everton are throwing strikers on because if they win this, they can go into administration and take a further nine point penalty without being relegated.

Wow, VAR really sinking to unbelievable lows today. The penalty awarded to Havertz is never a penalty. That is exactly what should be routed out of the game and should’ve been a yellow for diving. It’s pathetic to review that and determine that there’s a foul.
The goal the Bournemouth had called back due to a foul is also completely farcical. After seeing the issues Vicario has dealt with all season, how do you consider anything in that sequence to be a foul on Raya? It’s really embarrassing officiating.

That first half with more poor officiating. First penalty given is extremely debatable, but it was given by the ref. The second one is not given by the official, but instead VAR, even though it was quite obviously more of a penalty than the first. VAR is bad, but in concert with poor actual officiating it just makes for the perfect storm of crap.

Man City look like a machine right now, Haaland bagging 4 and getting hot at the right time too. With no CL games its hard for me to see them stumbling and coughing up their advantage - the Spurs game is the one banana peel left especially where they have to play it on very little rest.. bit of an unfair break for such a massive game, as much as I'd like to see a changing of the guard having the second last game of the season on 2 days rest in such a close title race seems a bit mickey mouse.
Arsenal have a very similar potential banana peel game at United. Difference is while Spurs seem to have moved past the new manager bump and be slumping, that's a club that's always been prone to the odd spectacular day and the current version of United feels like you know what you're getting a little more, they're a second tier 6-11 range team that's just not quite as good as the top teams.

I actually think next Saturday against Fulham could be Man City's biggest remaining challenge. 12:30 kickoff, away from home, decent enough opponent. Spurs might choose to lose 15-0 to help Man City's goal differential, and West Ham are playing for a lame duck manager.

Casemiro's fall off is just one of the many reasons United stink so much. Another catastrophic waste of money.

It's an issue...but they are also playing him and Jonny Evans as a makeshift CB pairing today...so yeah I'm not sure that's all on Casemiro.

Just don't sack ETH before the weekend. Arsenal don't need a new manager bounce.

I think Evans thought today was a pub-league match.

Playing out of position is certainly not ideal. But even when he has been in his best position this season he's looked like he's lost several steps. It'd be one thing is he had fallen from world class to just very good, but he's average at best now.
