Hey Blades...
Yegor Sidorov already has five points on the night.

Rebels eliminated, that makes me happy.
Broncos lost both home games, down 3-1 in their series, that also makes me happy.

Blades were kind to him in the handshake lineup. I'm sure everyone gave him reasonable expectations.
Blades really haven't been tested, next round will be a lot harder for them.

Well the 2nd round is over.
That was quick, wow.
I though Swift and Everett would make their series longer.
Top two teams in each conference cruised to round 3, now it should hopefully get much more closely contested.

Also, the Tigers signed one of their top prospects today. American Schaefer Gordon Carroll has decided to join the party and the Tigers will have some big decisions to make. They didn't have any 20yo forwards this past year and only three 19yo forwards with no 19yo Dmen. They can literally bring back every forward next year but won't because they need to make room for the Ruck twins and also for the above mentioned SGC.
Tigers will have to shift some of that forward depth into their D as they will be losing three 20yo's from the D core.
One thing is for sure, they will be an offensive powerhouse for the next few seasons.

Was a name I expected to see on the NTDP U17 roster but after not cracking the team he opts for a move to the WHL.
That's a massive get for the Tigers.
I wonder if they go into the import draft and draft a 19 yr old defenseman, trade one of their OA forwards for a OA defenseman.

I think that's a great plan as far as improving the D and I won't be surprised if that's exactly what they do.

Second straight night the Blades and Warriors go to OT, but this time it's the Blades that score the OT winner and level the series 1-1

Quite the collapse brewing in Saskatoon right now.
Blades up comfortably 4-0 after two periods, 8 minutes into the 3rd and it's now 4-3. Warriors storming back in the pivotal 5th game, series tied at 2.

Mateychuk with his 2nd goal in 6 minutes and it's now 4-4 with 6 minutes left in the game.
Blades fans must feel like they just got kicked in the stomach

Blades win it in OT, what a game.
Blades lead 3-2 heading to MJ for game 6, game 7 in Saskatoon if needed.
Portland leading 3-2 in their series, heading to PG for games 6 and if needed 7

Oh man that was a heartbreaker. If this team could play 3 periods it wouldn’t even be close. Both teams have aspects of their games that the other team struggles with. Such an incredible series. Really wish the bandwagon fans would chill out though. Lots of negative chatter going both ways. Either one of these teams could easily win the league the skill on the ice is just awesome to watch.

Gavin McKenna with three goals and an assist, Tij Iginla with a multi-point game as well as Canada rallies to beat the US 6-4 to win gold at the U-18 World Hockey Championships.

McKenna is incredible, youngest player on the team and sets the U18 Team Canada goal and points records. Comes up absolutely clutch in the Gold Medal game.
Down 3-1 he scored the 2nd and 3rd goals, and then sealed it with an empty netter from his own end, dead center to seal the deal.

This series deserves 7 games and it would be no surprise if OT was required in game 7.

Blades tie it late in period 3 and game 7 does indeed require OT.
