Still irked by ownership getting in the way of Markstrom trade
Let the reports make your blood boil: ownership is preventing management from doing a proper rebuild: http://youtu.be/jnI1zcyYn5c?si=pKevGaloAZXMCRvD
At the very least, get a Hanifin deal done by deadline!!!

I still don't believe that Seravelli is anything more than a talking point for agents / the Devils in this.
Guy has absolutely no integrity.

The funniest part is that three insiders all have a different story. Truth is somewhere in the middle

Frank comes across as a bully on tv the second anyone asks a follow up question to what he said where they essentially ask him to elaborate. I’ve seen him on numerous Sportsnet shows an I’m pretty surprised it’s allowed to continue as it seems to piss off the hosts. He’s an outside contractor. They should be able to cut him off. His insight isn’t that compelling most of the time. Just an annoying guy to watch on tv.

He's been on every network now.
He said he left TSN on his own, but its starting to feel like he may have been canned. He is now running a basement blog.

He can see winning will be tough.
Flames get some traction with Jersey, don't want to dick around with Fitz so they go to Markstrom. He goes home and talks it over and gives his blessing. Deal falls through (as they often do), and he's choked because he had already resigned himself to the fact he was leaving.
Lashes out at the guys above for not getting the deal done that he thought was finished.
Understandable from a human perspective.
But also understandable from a GM trade perspective. You can't wait until you have a deal with Jersey to approach Markstrom.

This all seems fair but what part should have been handled alot differently from up top? Those are strong words. If the deal just fell through as trades do, I'm not sure he would use those words.
Also, if he believed the deal was basically done, then why did he think that? Was it poorly communicated to him how far along they were, or was it actually that far along and something happened that killed the deal? And if something killed the deal last minute, what was it?
His reaction suggests to me he thought the deal was done.

Players get a mike shoved in their face, and then questions asked - they haven't prepared pre-scripted answers, so let's not work too hard analyzing every word like it is from a Presidential speech.

Lebrun mentioned NJ is starting to look into Ullmark as well if things with Markstrom didn’t work.

Why does Boston do that? Swayman could easily go down. They’re going to ride into the playoffs with two alternating goalies.
If they want Ullmark that’s fine, but Markstrom is likely a better option for what the devils are trying to do. If they want money to round out the rest of their roster it would be wise to continue going for Markstrom with 2 years left and could likely get some retention out of it too.

My guess is Ullmark is their Plan B for the summer, I doubt Boston moves him now

I think Conroy had kind of said all along, that he wasn't going to ask Markstrom to waive his no Move clause unless he was ready to pull the trigger. So, no matter the noise, until he was asked it was irrelevant.
It sounds like he was asked and then the deal was pulled after he waived. So, from his point they should not have asked him if they were not going to make the trade. Which I agree with.
There is some grey area on whether they did actually ask him to waive or not, but there are enough reports saying that he didn't think he was coming back after that road trip out east, makes me think he was asked and had agreed.
