The 8th year has value. What that value is TBD.

Among other places. No sure thing. Only way he gets dealt there with an extension in place is if Panthers pay the price. Otherwise, take your chances if he gets to free agency.

Plus having him for this year's run has value too. Agree with dammage in that that value is TBD currently. Hopefully after all said and done, these things are worth Lundell +

They are, yes. IIRC he was at Bradys wedding.

They aren't getting equal value back

If Florida wants him for this playoff run and signed for 8 years, they'll have to pay more than others are offering to do so.

Unless Hanifin gives a one-team list, the Flames can negotiate with a team that will pay for the extended Hanifin.

Do they even have anything left to trade?

That, any every rumor monger will be looking for Flames related clicks today, with the attention on the Flames first game since the Tanev trade, the Markstrom semi-drama, and oh yeah, retiring the number of the goalie that almost won us our second cup tonight.

I would take a deal involving Lundell, over a deal involving Holtz from NJ. (Depending on the other pieces)
1)Mercer
2)Lundell
3)Holtz

I just have a feeling asking for Lundell is similar to fans thinking we could get Bourque or even Stankovin for Tanev or the fans thought we could get a 1st for Zadorov. The hype has been the Flames will get something in between the Lindholm and Tanev returns for Hanifin. I think it will be largely prospect heavy if the return is Florida.
If it is Lundell I would expect it to almost be a 1 for 1 deal for or even the Flamea adding and taking back a Dman or something?

I'm thinking; given what we are hearing about the negotiation's with player and agent we should be happy with a 1 for 1 trade involving Lundell, but since I'm feeling greedy who would you like to see as another piece to the puzzle involving a prospect?

You never really do get equal value back for pending UFAs at the deadline. A late 1st and a prospect would be a good return, but neither are likely to become another Hanifin.

Hopefully they can work out an extension for Hanifin into this and get maximum value.
