Tired the cowboy from Burgers Near Me in the District Food Hall and thought it was pretty good. Smash burger style burgers but not too thin and it was cooked really well. The toppings and sauce didn’t really add much. Would try again but without all the toppings.
I had a burger from there about 1.5 months back as my work did an informal Holiday get together there. The burger hit the right notes for me and the tater tots were surprisingly delicious despite not being overly crispy.
Problem is, the food wasn't so good that I'd want to drive from the deep South of the city to get it. Too many other burger places that are equivalent and more convenient.
Anyone tried Burger Priest down on 130th? Just noticed it the other day, not sure how long it has been there.
It's on the north side of the street in that cluster by The Keg (kind of by Canadian Tire).
I have yes, pretty good. I think they used to be REALLY good, but then were bought out by the same company that owns Swiss Chalet/ Harveys/ Kelseys which has made it more mediocre. Still a decent burger though
Alumni is my favourite sandwich shop in town and they actually make a great burger too. I had the double burger which is basic but delicious. Next time I'm going to try the Kahuna burger they have on special.

Has anyone been to class clown burger downtown? It's all over social media with supposed real reactions to it being the best thing this city has seen in years. Hard to tell these days, to me they come off as a campaign more than genuine. Especially with so many "random" tik toks from customers all at the same time this month even though it opened last September.
But always looking to try new great burgers in Calgary.
Fries seem to be frozen crinkle cut, but with the Coney sauce, it's pretty good. Donald McRonald was mushy and tasted like cheese and ketchup only, so try a different one.

I enjoyed it. It's really good.
But they also just have hit at the right time with the right concept - tapping into one's nostalgia about growing up eating Mcdonald's.
They've nailed all the details.

All their burgers seem to be takes on existing ones. They're tasty but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one.
Class Clown burgers are excellent. I'd leave the fries though. Eating in is a great experience and obviously the more the burger is in transport the further away it tastes from eating it as prepared. Worth the visit.

Rain Dog Bar’s (in Inglewood) Smashburger is outstanding, and my favourite burger in the city right now (I think they call it “the healthy baby burger” but I’ve just ordered it as “the smashburger”). Awesome spot.
Got around to Bussin Burgers the other week, and wasn’t much of a fan.
Lil Empire would be second for me next to Class Clown. Clive and Boogies not even close although i'll still go to Boogies because their milkshakes are so damn good

This.
Great little date spot and the burger is incredible. It's called the Healthy Baby Burger as that's the name of the pop up that one of their chef's co-owns. So keep an eye out for Healthy Baby as they do lots of incredible stuff.
Class Clown is fantastic but what really sets it apart is the beer and wine menu. It'll be even better when the hype dies down and you dont have to wait an hour to get in. Or can sit and session said beers without getting the side eye to move on...

Thank you for this.

We were talking about burgers the other day.
