Now, I'm sure what the Perry thing is a level about it, but it may or may not be criminal. Who knows. As I said, different burden of proof. The question is though did the Hawks investigation turn up enough? Will the PA appeal etc.
EDIT: TLDR what Jason said.

I just don’t know the police were called at all. Normally the law takes time to work its way through to charge a person then drop the charge. To investigate this and wrap it up that quickly tells me it wasn’t anything about touching. Again, I could be wrong but the clues aren’t there alluding to that

Well of course, and anywhere else that person would be fired.
But this is the NHL, and the NHLPA we are talking about. You can be accused for beating your wife, raping a player, or teaming up on a girl, and as long as it ain't public knowledge, nobody actually cares.

Your confusing the team being able to terminate and always wanting to terminate
Just like in real business the more valuable you are the more benefit of the doubt you get .
Why would Chicago care to see old man Perry go to treatment , etc ? He’s done in the league at his age
Terminate and move on . As long as they had proof all parties involved will see this go away
Perry probably agreed not to appeal as long as the details stay quiet

I get that.
Not really disagreeing with you, but just saying that the team who covered up rape by a coach suddenly saying Perry violated his player clause agreement and turfing him, I just remain skeptical.

The Blackhawks are going to be extra sensitive to this. Worst case now is they pay the balance of what they owe Perry and say they were just trying to do the right thing. If they sat on this info, didn't act, and it turns out to be true then would get raked through the coals.
Kane was never charged and his contract was terminated

I look at it the opposite way - if any team is likely to over react it would be Chicago after all the incidents

Dude. The Oilers wouldn't cancel the moms' trip after signing Perry. If anything, they'd have 3 or 4 more of them to keep him happy.

Unless that person was underage that is none of the clubs business and would not be grounds to terminate a contract. The NHLPA would slam dunk that.

3 days!!!
Just slam a beer when you wake up and you should be good to go. Not always the best idea because you just start feeling better and slamming more.

I'm not naive enough to think that they actually give a ####.
Hence remaining skeptical of the entire thing.
In the past, the Blackhawks have only acted when they got caught.
IMO this entire thing is way bigger and they trying to bury it by burying Perry.

If that was the case, I would think the Hawks would have leaked that already to completely shut down the rumours. The fact they are keeping it quiet suggests privacy is a concern for another individual, which wouldn't really be the case if he just pulled a Mel Gibson.
When asked if the increased diligence since the Beach scandal helped bring this recent incident to light, Davidson said that he thinks it helped.
Those things together sound like some kind of sexual misconduct or assault of some kind where another victim had to come forward, and now the Hawks want to protect that person from attention. If it was anything else, I think they would just say what it is to kybosh all the false Bedard rumours.

I mean, I’m happy they acted quickly but it would not surprise me at all if Perry was made an example of because of this. We don’t know much about the supposed incident and perhaps this was an appropriate response but I wouldn’t be surprised if the Hawks felt like coming down hard on Perry was a way to make amends for their handling of the Beech incident.

What is wrong with it? Seems like a well written sports article to me. Every sports site has writers looking at this, are they all garbage sites?
