my recollection is he typically isn't high on some of our guys (which is fine, I'm not saying that is a scandal or anything) but I guess they have moved up 7 spots. Flames deserve skepticism, but I feel they are likely a bit higher than 21
in fact Pronman says he likes our first rounders- of which there are 4 on display here (1,2,3,6) intermingled with a goalie that has dominated at the pro-level and a dman who found his feet well also in the AHL. If on a list Pelletier is considered a prospect (ie not graduated) and yet at number 6; given his production in pro hockey that is probably a sign of a decent list (at least depth wise- there is no front end burner here likely)

Part of the way to evaluate is looking at the teams sitting above them.
Right now those are:
17. Dallas
18. St. Louis
19. Winnipeg
20. LA
My assessment of each:
LA: Higher end talent at the top with Byfield (question marks though), Clarke, and Kaliyev. You probably still put the first two above any Flames prospect.
Winnipeg: Benefiting from Perfetti being inclusion. Odd prospect group to assess as they've got a couple real boom/bust guys, including Lambert.
St. Louis: Nice top 4 in Dvorsky, Snuggerud, Stenberg and Neighbours and some good depth down through 8 or 9.
Dallas: Benefiting from Wyatt Johnston still being in there. Stankoven/Harley are solid #2 and #3. Solid through the top 5.
I don't have much problem with any of those teams being above the Flames, but they are not significantly above. I think the Flames are basically firmly in the bottom part of the "middle tier" of teams that have solid but not spectacular prospect basis. In my head I would have guessed late teens, so this is not far off.

that's fair, I wasn't really looking at the broader perspective of other lists, 21 just 'feels low' but probably depends on looking at who is included (meaning not considered graduated) and not in prospect lists- as you have pointed out

It is crazy to me that Zary is so high on his list.

Does Pronman tend to emphasize center prospects over other players?
I had Zary #7 on my list.

Yup and frankly given the pick deficit in the last few years, 21 is pretty good.
Hopefully the mindset has shifted and this org will start to value picks more.

How about that Martin Pospisil; I’d bet not a single fan would have had him making the team for more than a game or two let alone being an integral ingredient to the roster all year. Props to Marty for sure, what an ascent, bravo.

I was one and I don't think I'm the only one. He looked like a good pick from the start but I can see how his injury issues may have had resulted in fans giving up on him.

I've always been a Pospisil fan. He'd have arrived sooner of not for all the injuries

In those polls, Pospisil started receiving votes in round 8 (Suave and SaskyFlamesFan were the first two).

Then again, it appears I was voting Filip Sveningsson ahead of Pospisil for at least two years.
