The right guy won but Mikey was a hard tap out to watch
That was a desperate man with big stakes.

Yeah I found that pretty tough. He seemed like a pretty genuine guy and when he couldn't get his boots on it was rough. I would hope he gets something though and it's not just winner take all?
The end of the season being extreme cold makes it a little anticlimactic. There's nothing these people can do other than hunker down and try not to give up. I guess if they were somewhere else, and food was more plentiful with an easier climate, the game might not end for a super long time.

I think either of the last two guys would have been good winners. Love how they surprise them at the end.

My understanding is that it is winner take all
The others get nothing
But perhaps somehow he can leverage this into a better job

I thought it wrapped up too quickly with that last episode. I guess once it froze over it was essentially over for everyone though.
Question about the black bear that is on the intro. Did anyone actually see it and try to hunt it? If so, it must have been one of the early episodes that I missed.

It was early on spotted in the distance. I forget by who.

It was a weird ending to the season, for sure. Not even rabbits to snare. At the start of the season I thought there would be more than one person getting big game, but just not much around. Maybe they need to start 2 weeks earlier to give a little more time for them to get setup before getting snowed in.

My favourite part of the finale is the surprise, and included in that is "tour" they give to the person who comes to see them. It's just great, and the reaction of that loved one is always like "wow, that's awesome" and at the same time they have to think deep down...thank god I didn't have to do this!

"You stink!"
One of my favourite parts of the show is that their is no narrator or host. There's the onscreen text to give you context or information, which is great, but the stars can only ever be the contestants. It's kind of unique and works so well.

Haha would love to, but haven't seen him for ages. Know him from many many years ago, not buddies or anything. I believe he lives in Invermere now? Finally watched the finale tonight, got a little choked up at the end, really awesome ending.

First episode:
I was expecting gray sweater guy to be the first to go, didn't see that one coming. Ouch!
This looks like it will be a great season, I'd love to know exactly where this was filmed, I have a thought on it since I've been up there.

This time, contestants are heading to Inuvik in Canada's Northwest Territories, 120 miles above the Arctic Circle and just south of the Arctic Ocean. It's the coldest location in the show's history.

Ya, I was looking for more specific. I suspect it is in this area here:

Going to keep an eye on the aerial shots, see if I can pin it down. For fun.

Wish they would spend time in the preview show outlining the equipment they pick and why
