It's kind of amusing a single demographic has so completely and totally made a brand toxic to 99% of the population.

I wouldn’t equate a few internet complainers to 99% of the population. It’s still the second highest selling pick up in Canada.

My local 7-11 doesn't have Coke slurpees right now. What the hell is going on. They have some other good seasonal flavors but I need a base layer of Coke. They should have kept the Coke and replaced Pepsi with something else.

Screw that, Pepsi is THE flavour to have in a slurpee.

Pepsi and Cream Soda are the ones to keep around no matter what. Just not the Cream Soda Lite, that stuff will make you sh-t your brains out.

I usually do Coke and Cream Soda or Blue Raspberry. I don't like Pepsi because it seems to have much less syrup than Coke and it is usually more ice crystals. Coke is more liquid and easier to drink.

That's funny because that's the same reason (aside from taste) that I prefer the Pepsi ones. The Coca-Cola ones are too syrup-y and after a few sips really begins to cloy on the palate.

The ice crystals too, I like when I'm about 2/3 done my slurpee to eat the rest using the spoon straw... which, by the way, here's one we can properly agree on:

Spoon straws should be exempt from this "no more single-use plastic" sh-t.

Or at the very least, allow / encourage the use of the biodegradable ones that 7-Eleven used to have. These thin cardboard spoon straws that both 7-Eleven and Circle-K have ended up with are beyond useless. I'm sorry that a sea turtle got a straw stuck up its nose and it went viral on the internet, it hurt my heart to hear the noise it made too. You wanna encourage recycling them, I'm in. Provide a biodegradable option and tack the cost onto the price of a slurpee, give-r, I'll pay the 25 cents or whatever. But enough with this cardboard straws nonsense. Most unfit-for-purpose thing ever.

Regarding Coke vs Pepsi the problem I have with Pepsi is that it seems too easy to suck all the syrup out and be left with just ice crystals.

Regarding the straws, the biodegradable plastic ones at 7-11 were great and the previous paper ones sucked. But my 7-11 seems to have new paper ones which are significantly wider diameter and much thicker walls. The straws don't fall apart or get soggy at all. Still not as good as plastic but probably 90% there.

It boggles my mind that adults drink pop or pop adjacent things.

Nothing wrong with it. Nothing beats a freshly cracked Perrier if you're working. Have some options along with that: pop, water, tea, coffee, juice. If you just have one all the time it's boring.

I got a small slurpee from 7-11 the other day and consumed it within a reasonable period of time and did not have any issues with the paper straw. Same with a drink from the theatre. I think the trick is not to let the straw stew in the drink for a long time or maw the end like it’s your co-worker’s bic pen.

Bad resumes are gold.

I still remember a 15 year "experienced" engineer had "Won Esso minor hockey week in PeeWee". But now looking back maybe he was adding humour.

One job I was totally underqualified for but I wanted, I put "Voted most likely to make coworkers spit our water laughing". I got the interview and they actually said "you aren;t qualified for this role but we wanted to meet you". Totally didn't get the job. Damn Raging River!
