Which led to Rodman joining up with Pippen and Jordan after Grant left.
Malone and Payton joined Shaq and Kobe.
Garnett, Allen, and Pierce.
Kobe trying to get Chris Paul and Pau Gasol to LA with him and Lamar Odom.
Then of course Lebron, Wade, and Bosh.
Funniest part is Lebron gets all the hate for it, when really it had been happening for 2 decades already before he did it.

Some of these are wrong.
Pippen never played for the Magic.
Pau Gasol was traded for Chris Paul. That trade would have seen a lot of good players leave the Lakers.
Payton and Malone came in washed up and Malone was trying to have sex with Kobes wife.
The difference is Wade Bosh and Lebron all schemed together to go to free agency at the same time and team up. This was the first of its kind super team.
Lebron has always whined about getting trades. He got half the Lakers traded for Anthony Davis.
He got Wiggins traded for Kevin Love.
Kevin Durant to the Warriors was some great management by Bob Meyers to plan cap space when the cap got a huge jump due to the TV deal money. It doesn't happen without that plus they had to trade away depth. The core 3 are drafted players as well. If you have the cap space and have the chance to land that type of player you would be foolish not to chase it.

Meant Penny...oops.
I just mean that Pau and Paul were both guys that Kobe was trying to recruit to join him.
Really the summary of your post to me is "It's only a problem when Lebron does it"
Which tends to be the narrative that I see the most online since it's a away to devalue Lebron when people are doing comparisons to Jordan.

It kind of is because he needs to go out of his way to say he didn't form a super team. He did and that's how he got his rings. Just like other teams. You win with good players around you no need for him to keep deflecting like he wasn't part of what is happening in the NBA.
Just look at what he did to keep the headlines on himself with the fake retirement talk after getting swept.
Such an easy guy to root against.

It'll be interesting to see how the new CBA affects this... it seems like it'll be harder to build a team with more than two max players... Still doable but you've gotta sacrifice way more elsewhere in the roster than currently. I think that was the big tradeoff for the two sides... the owners saying 'yeah, we're not going to crack down on players tampering with other players or making trade demands... but we're going to make it way harder for teams to actually gain an advantage through that.

Holy Jokic again and Jamal Murray also gets a triple double! The Heat got chilled and steamrolled by those two players.

I know he's likely to take the rest of the summer off, but I'm salivating at the thought of Murray suiting up for Team Canada at the Worlds this year. Hopefully Jokic and Murray both play for their respective countries.

Great games by Gordon and Brown with Jokic in foul trouble. This series is done. Hope the Nuggets close it out in Denver

Even thought the officiating was doing their best to keep the Heat in the game, but the Nuggets are just too strong. Jokic on the bench was the Heats opening, but again the Nuggets are deep and I think the Heat got the deficit from 10 to 9 points with Joker not playing. Bam with 8 turnovers is a tough look, though that block on Murray was impressive.

Yeah, that stretch with Jokic out was probably the last gasp for the Heat. It's really impressive how even with Jokic out, the Nuggets have such great off-ball movement and don't really change up their offensive style... everyone's looking to pass for a better look, because they know that everyone else is moving and working to get open. It's so much more enjoyable to watch than the iso-ball that so many teams lean on.

The Nuggets look like giants compared to the heat.

So this brings up a team composition thing that frustrates me to no end about the Raptors. Raptors were supposedly doing this experiment with emphasizing size on their roster, and other than FVV they've got great size overall... but they never used their size on offense in a way that was really useful: so little cutting to the basket, so little working to create passing lanes. It was just trying to create a mismatch and then seeing if a bigger player can back down a smaller one from the foul line. You watch the Nuggets, and so many possessions use that size advantage not just to create mismatches but to get wide-open shots.

Guys like Aaron Gordon who have hops are going at guys and gettimg easy buckets in the paint.
Might also be a talent issue. I've never been a huge Pascal fan.
You also can't discount Jokic is probably the best player in the NBA and Murray is playing lights out.
The Raptors don't have that type of top talent.
