Haha Huberdeau on the bench.
Painful to know that our highest paid player for nearly the next decade is about as good as Alex tanguay. Yuck

Yup. Take a seat Hubey.
And one of our better goalie pulled final minute of the season.

I'm not saying he was great, I was just surprised.
Zadorov and Stone out with the goalie pulled but no Huberdeau. Never would have guessed that before the season started.

But still, you never really thought they were going to score, did you?
Not on Markstrom one iota, but they are just such hot garbage in front of him. I don’t think the solution is in the room.

I struggle to see how this is a wake up scenario. I see it more as a “coach and player don’t work together” situation.
Only the Flames would take a 115 point player, sign him to an $88M contract and then play him with Lucic and in a system that is all about perimeter, slow, grind-by-design hockey.

Hell no. I’m beginning to believe Sutter and Huberdeau just won’t work - at least certainly not to the tune of $10.5M AAV.
There is something to be said about coaching the players you have to their maximum ability, but that’s not what Sutter does - so it’s not what the Flames do, which makes me horribly concerned about the future of those 9 year arrangement.

It may be worse as the coach, players and GM seem to not be on the same page

Yeah. If we took away what we already knew about these players and just evaluated them on their on ice performance this year, I think we’d all have a very different take on who some of the best players are.

He wasn't the worst player on the team by any stretch.
I thought Coleman had a brutal game. Dube was running around accomplishing nothing.
Our top two lines are not good. Lucic and Dube need to be off those lines yesterday.

Coleman and all of line 4 looked like garbage. Dube played well. I thought Lindholm and Toffoli were noticeable in a good way in the 3rd too.

I agree with you minus Dube.
