I enjoyed watching the game and it offers great value for the quality of hockey, but any future Wranglers games I go to I'll probably avoid the concessions.
Pretty sure I watched Scorp snap a picture of Darryl Sutter, but a lot of people tried to do the same.

You definitely did.

I think Sandra was just estimating — the lower bowl capacity isn't that high.

I ran into Sandra after the broadcast and asked her about attendance. She says she was told the expectation was up to 9,000 with the number of available tickets left. She apologized if the number was misleading.

On another note, this was my first time seeing Jeremie Poirier live. He's impressive. I can see why he stuck around Flames camp longer than others. I hope they can help him develop a bit more defensively.

These prospects are going to be highly scrutinized by a knowlegable fanbase now that they are in the same city as the parent team.

If I did back of the napkin math, ~18k in the first two bowls. Lower bowl almost full so I could see how it would get to 9k.
The difference is that the upper bowl goes up to Row 22 or so and the lower bowl is only 13 rows.

Definitely agree with the not enough concession’s open comment. I kinda regret getting our season tix in the club section. Never realized how underserved that area is and only having one access point to the main concourse really bogs things down.
Atmosphere is nice, good idea to contain everyone to the lower bowl.

I think it's less of an issue for Flames games because the club has delivery to your seat service. Obviously wranglers pricing doesn't support that service, but hopefully they'll add some concession capacity somehow. Even a guy with a cooler selling beers in a separate line would probably help reduce main lines.

That’s not how geometry works. Lower bowl capacity would be at most 1/3 of the total so max ~6k capacity.

I’m saying that’s how someone came up with 9k. They took 18 and divided it in 2(upper and lower) instead of taking into account that the upper bowl accounts for 2/3 of the rows.

If you count only the lower bowl a sell out? But I agree, it was a great atmosphere.

Those are the only tickets they're selling, so that is a sellout for them.
I'm interested in what tonight's attendance will be. Looking on Ticketmaster, there are still a lot of tickets available. This will probably be more representative of the usual attendance for the team.

Lower bowl is about 7,000 when you include suites
200s are about another 11,000 when you include the restauraunt/lounge seats
300s are the rest

Opening day generated a bunch of curious, and and also the hyper-engaged Flames fan. The trick will be to generate a buzz based on the Wrangler brand itself (particularly weeknight games).
Ironically, competing for the same audience as the Hitmen.

The bar line for the club seats was never that bad, 5 people max, the few times I went on Sunday but the concession line was a long wait.
