Microwavable bean bag on the eyes/sinus + Vicks vapo rub. Try and liquify mucus and eject it so that you can have longer periods between tissues.

Bean bag is also great on the neck, chest and back to help the cough too.

Or... Attempt to use Dayquil those symptoms?

Sorry to hear. I only stopped random coughing fits and randomly choking on mucus about a week ago. That's almost two months from when I first got it.

We all tested positive in July (after coming back from vacation). Symptoms were minor, but I am noticing that my cardio is gone completely downhill. I can’t climb three flights of stairs without being out of breath.

I did the same thing for a couple weeks, before my trip to Portugal. I thought I would need a negative test to get into Portugal, but they dropped that requirement a week before I went. I still wore the masks though, because I didn't want to get sick right before my trip.

I also got covid insurance, that would cover the cost of a hotel and other related expenses for two weeks, should I need to isolate while on vacation.

I appear to have recovered from the plague with just some lingering tiredness. However, now my immune compromised wife is sick with Covid, and she's in much rougher shape. Lot of coughing and joint pain. Yesterday dizziness started. On advice of her GP, I bought one of those finger oximeters and she's bouncing around between 95% and 88%... This could be a fun afternoon.

My DIL was positive a full 14 days from her first positive test. 14 days.

According to public health in Ontario she could be out and about after 5 days (or sooner if no symptoms) even though on day 12 the doctor tested her and said she was still contagious. Could go to work, could go to school. This pandemic will never be "over". Public heath chooses to pretend it doesn't exist anymore. They don't keep case records, # hospitalized, # of deaths. She works in a respite home, so her employer made her stay home for 10 days, but most employers would not.

Well, it is endemic now, isn't it? I don't think there is any hope of ever putting it back in its bottle. Like a cold or the flu, we also have covid and always will.

According to public health I can go to work with Norovirus or Tuberculosis, but I don’t because I’m not an #######. I take a sick day

Most full time jobs have sick pay, take it if you’re sick and stay home.

Came back from vacation in BC this week with a cough, teary eyes, nose that wouldn't stop running, felt tired and under the weather. Tested negative on a rapid test. Could be allergies to the smoke, could be a cold, maybe I'm just tired cause I have a newborn, maybe it was covid. Will never know and it's not like rapid tests are super accurate.

Have had a few close calls throughout all this fun but for 2.5 yrs I've never tested positive.

I tested negative the first 3 days of symptoms, and tested positive in the afternoon of the fourth day.

Which is in line with the recommendations to test 5 days after symptoms start.

Most anecdotes I’ve heard have said similar to you.

I just tested positive about a half an hour ago after testing negative the last two days. My dad tested positive on Monday and I most likely caught it from him.

I started to feel a sore throat after he tested positive but I thought maybe it was just psychological. Then I woke up this morning and my sore throat was worse and I would say a few hours ago I started feeling a headache coming on.

Just tested positive again, first time was at Christmas so about 9 months later. Symptoms so far are similar as the first time around - like a bad cold. Looking back now I can see the symptoms began a couple of days ago but did not come on significantly until today. I never even clued in that it might be anything until today on the way home as they were so mild at first. Worst feeling is I clearly contracted it a few days ago and have since been at work meetings and my elderly father just left after visiting for several days. If I had suspected anything at all I would have bailed on those things.

It sounds like there is a rhinovirus spreading pretty rapidly so that is what you might be experiencing now especially if you have kids who would have likely picked this up at school.

I had it last week, bunch of people at work this week and my son came down with it yesterday. I am still suffering with plugged ears and cement in my sinuses every morning and I am a little brain foggy. Walked into a glass door at work yesterday and split the bridge of my nose open whilst daydreaming.

Well, latest follow-up with my neurologist basically confirms that I seem to be one of the very rare people who have quite bad neurological responses to the virus. Looks like I will need to keep wearing masks and being extra careful about exposure to covid. Probably going to have to look at career changes to try to be remote-only.

Honestly, it's just kind of a relief to know that everything I experienced neurologically and cognitively in the last 16 months or so has an explanation. It has been the hardest period of my life dealing with the effects of first the vaccine and then the virus itself, but at least I can now with some confidence say what the source of the issues has been and know that others have had similar experiences, even though there is no explanation of what makes me vulnerable to the virus.

My biggest fear at this point I suppose is that while most people seem to recover, there may be potential of much longer-term health consequences. The Spanish flu apparently resulted in Parkinson's for some people who got it, and some research suggested the same for bird flu. It seems too early to tell for covid, but hopefully it's not also the case.

Well ####… one day of symptoms and a positive test result within one minute… first go of this. Man it sucks.

We just caught it, after two and a half years of dodging it. I was tipped off because ketchup started tasting intolerable, like hot gasoline. Wife has common cold symptoms. Our rapid tests showed the positive test line within a minute of the solution hitting that part of the rapid test.

I'm almost over it, ketchup is largely tasting normal again (hot sauce is still tasting gross). Wife probably has a day or two of being miserable at me before she's back to normal.

Now she's annoyed we can't get the bivalent booster at the end of October before our Mexico trip.

Man alive, I was useless for 5 days there. The brain fog… felt like I was back in my post concussion syndrome days.
