I'm in BC so the late start is fine with me, but man that's a very late start for a lot of you.....
Interesting because at the moment Sportsnet West has the game at 4:30 in BC, so 5:30 Calgary.

I think this one will be much tighter - maybe not Dallas tight but definitely nothing like last game. Hopefully Smith gives us a couple and Marktsrom and the D can limit whats-his-name to two or three points.

That might be a Game 1 Replay? I see 8:30MT for tonight.

Both teams clamp down on defence for this one, so 7-5 for the Flames with the Oilers scoring first and last.

My mistake. The 4:30 game is a rebroadcast of game one.

I know the first instinct is to be a bit sympathetic to hurt players. But this is the playoffs man. The Flames need to run through those two as often as they can.
Agreed. If they are out on the ice, knock them down to the ice!

We have heard a lot about how the Oilers have been better defensively under Woodcroft. In the 3 games against the Flames since he was hired it hasn’t really shown.

Flames have outplayed the Oilers in all 5 matchups this year and have won 3 straight. Oilers have scored at least 5 goals in 4 of those games though so it is not all great as the Flames did it twice (scored 9 in those games).

I think this one comes down to Markstrom vs Smith so I like our chances.

10 things I want to see tonight...

10) The McDavid Stare of Despair

9) Johnny - and his folks - beaming after a cookie-shelf snipe

8) Ron McLean on the verge of tears

7) Kylington with a Bobby Orr-esque goal (you know he has it in him)

6) The top line with 4 points each

5) Smith pulled again

4) Hats raining down again, this time for Johnny

3) Looch with a 'Power 5' goal

2) Markstrom with a shutout

and the #1 thing I would like to see tonight...

1) another W

Better is a relative term.
Maybe they've gone from absolutely abysmal defensively to just really bad.

The Flames have scored 3 goals IN EACH OF THE LAST 6 PERIODS these teams have played.

Flames: 3 - 3 - 3 - 3 - 3 - 3
Oilers..: 2 - 3 - 0 - 1 - 4 - 0

It would be fun if Keith threw a hat when Johnny scores 3. That would be a very Tkatchukish thing to do, I think Matt would appreciate that.

Hoping for a good bounce-back game from Markstrom tonight.

And for god sakes, please don't let this game devolve into the kind of ridiculous river hockey we saw in game 1. Need to tighten up defensively and stop trading chances with these clowns.

Oilers can't play any other way. It's up to the Flames to impose order onto the game.

Cleary Markstrom has to be better tonight but I think they have to do a much better job keeping McDavid away from the net. Easier said than done but I think they have to be more aware when he's on the ice and make safe plays especially defenseman pinching or handling the puck at the Oilers blue line.

I'm expecting Markstrom to have a big game. I don't foresee the Oilers getting shut out, but Markstrom will not be letting in weak goals and will make some big saves - no freebies in this game as well as a few stolen away.

Hold the Oilers to two goals, and the Flames offense should easily top that against their ramshackle structure and absence of team defense.

So Tkachuk can score a hattrick on the Oilers with a broken hand. I wonder as it gets better the count will increase...

4 goals tonight!

Maybe redefine and have parameters for a Looch-Trick.

What might be the 3 events be that constitute a Looch-Trick?
