I want the Vader reveal to knock their socks off one day, but it would useless I think if they are too young.
My kids were pretty young. My oldest was... 5 or 6? when we were watching the prequels. The moment Anakin turned to Darth Vader shook my oldest son. My wife looked at him and asked why he was crying. He somehow didn't put 2 and 2 together and missed that Anakin was Luke's father. He must have really identified with Anakin and thought he was his hero because he said "Am I going to become a bad guy?"

I’ve just realized what the Star Wars universe lacks.
A Shire.
There’s nothing that anyone in any of the stories is fighting for that’s actually, you know, worth fighting for.
Aside from a general notion of freedom.
But there’s no quiet life at home where anyone eats, drinks and sings songs.
There’s no reminiscing about the way things were - the Republic of the prequels isn’t held up as any sort of thing to reconstruct.
All these rebels are fighting a lost cause war - they have nowhere to go back to, they’re not from anywhere that matters, and thus nobody can claim to be fighting to defend anything of significance.
Luke’s life on Tatooine sucked. His family was murdered, and he has no choice but to go on an adventure.
Anakin’s was worse - he was a slave on that same planet, and for some reason never did anything to make it better once he became a Jedi.
Rey was a homeless person before she met a runaway stormtrooper. She has no connection to anyone or anything - she’s a mercenary. If Kylo had found her before Han and company, she probably would’ve gone off with him and had Sith babies.
Han was raised in Hell.
Leia watches her home planet get destroyed, literally due to her actions, and never appears affected by it ever again. I get that it “ain’t that kind of movie”, but it’s just an observation.
Something needs to be protected in these stories - evidenced by the fact the most well-reviewed Star Wars property of the last 30 years is the Mandolorian, which is all about protecting baby Yoda. Which is something.
Am I wrong?

So I got my 3 & 4 year old to watch Rogue One. They thought it was the bees knees at first, but then got scared of Saw Gerrera parts and we had to turn it off.
They had no problems with the death troopers and Lyra getting murdered. I'm concerned lol.
Will try again in 12 months.

Poor Saw, the guy is just a tragic character, especially with the episodes in Rebels and Clone Wars.
Nearly everything he touched went to crap.
I felt bad for him when he asked Jyn if they were still friends. He lost his humanity and knew it.
I wonder how your kids would have reacted to the brutality of Vader.

So in the last month and a half I've binged The Clone Wars, Rebels and season 1 of The Bad Batch.
Really good stuff if you are into Star Wars. Really good.
I wish I would have known beforehand that The Clone Wars needed to be watched in a particular order, not the order they were aired. In the end not a huge deal, but would have made more sense for sure.
I'd probably watch season 1 of Bad Batch before Rebels, but that doesn't matter that much, especially since The Bad Batch isn't done yet.
But I'm really glad I watched all those animated series now that certain characters are starting to pop up in these live action Star Wars shows.

Hayden will be playing double duty as Anakin Skywalker and as Darth Vader in the suit.
Supposedly we're going to get flashbacks to the Clone Wars which means that we might see Ashoka. These memories happen as Obi mourns his friends death as he doesn't know that Anakin survived.
We'll see Obi-Wan's life on Tattooine, and there's a rumor that a major character from Legends will be Obi's enemy as Obi tries to protect the Lars family and Luke.
We'll also see Vader's obsession with hunting down Jedi and his obsession with finding Yoda and Obi. The rumor is that we're going to see a far angrier hate filled Vader then we saw in Rebels and even Rogue One as he's still early into his transition to Vader. We're also going to see the rise of the Grand Inquisitor and the 5th brother and 7th sister from Rebels."

I must admit, I’m a little curious what those two could do with better dialogue.

New Galactic Starcruiser promotional video is out. Looks better than the previous video that got deleted after all the negative feedback but still skeptical it will be worth the cost.
Looks like they are trying to create a backstory for the "ship" which is apparently hundreds of years old and dates back to the height of the old republic.
The hotel is currently in testing phase with employees and select guests. Officially opens March 1st to paying customers.
edit:
Also just read that there will be a novel released soon that will make the Halycon the ship Han and Leia spent their honeymoon on canon. Maybe you will get the same suite Kylo Ren was conceived in!
I'd prefer this show doesn't lean too heavily on the animated shows/books/comics.
With a lean 6 episodes the focus should be entirely on Kenobi and Vader's journeys, not legends characters or Ahsoka. She has her own show upcoming to delve into her relationship with Anakin (which movie-only followers will have zero knowledge of).
In a New Hope you really get the feeling Obi-Wan knows who Vaders is. I hope this show shows us how Obi-Wan learns that.
That could be an amazing scene with the right dialog, because the actors have the talent.
Pretty sure he’ll be able to sense it immediately the first time they’re within 200m of each other. But if they stay true to ANH, that encounter shouldn’t happen because Vader mentions before their duel that they hadn’t seen each other since he was the student.
Remember that Obi-Wan saw the recording of the Jedi Temple where Palpatine called Anakin Lord Vader.
In Dark Lord the Epilogue saw Obi-Wan in a cantina on Tattooine where he'd followed the Lars and Luke and he saw a news cast of Vader basically ripping into the Wookies on their home world.
He freaked out and started making plans to take Luke and flee off of Tattooine because of Anakin's link to the Lars. Then Qui-gon talked to him and said that the memories of Tattooine would be too painful for Vader and he wouldn't step foot on Tattooine out of fears of awakening the last spark of Anakin in him.
It was a brilliant piece of writing.

Damn that is great, and makes sense. Really helps answer that question of why Luke was hidden there. Almost hidden in plain sight though, and it works.
