Got 2 tickets in 114 this morning. Will be a 5 hour drive from Ottawa, hopefully weather isn’t too bad.

Game sold out in 4 hours before tickets were even on sale to the general public. Last time we played the US at home BMO Field was half empty, and that was just over 2 years ago. Crazy...

I hope that CSA rewards Edmonton for the great turnout in November.
Hopefully if (when) we qualify for Qatar, the CSA organizes a friendly vs a high profile European opponent in August or something.
England would be the dream, of course, but an Italy, Germany or France would be a real treat also.

Do European teams even play friendlies anymore? It's all Nations League now.
Canada also has two nations league home matches in June, maybe put those in Edmonton.

Looks like Canada will play a friendly vs Guatemala Jan 22, 5 days before their away match in Honduras. Think this is primarily to get the MLS players in game shape during the offseason.

Not surprising as it’s been a fantastic year.
I was born after 86, so the best year of Canadian soccer of my life. Hoping 22 is even better.

1000000% Herdman.
CSA's only credit is for hiring him from NZ for the WNT. Him being made manager of the MNT was for that organization to save face after another round of infantile political infighting punted a coach that just as many liked vs disliked within the CSA.
Also, credit has to go to Covid for throwing the old qualifying format, where it was unlikely for Canada to make Qatar, in the trash bin...and having a Canadian as president of CONCACAF to make sure that decision got pushed through.

I was just coming to post that. That could be a huge blow
Get well soon Phonzie! That’s really what is most important. As for Canada it is a big hole to be filled. It there is legitimate depth and they have a few options for how to line up the team

The way Adekugbe played in Edmonton I'd promote him to that spot on the left. Also Davies started the two Edmonton game up front so this could be an opportunity for Cavellini or Ugbo.

Hoilett should be back as well and could play that free roaming attacker position up top

That's a huge hole, but unlike previous eras, this squad has some depth. Hopefully his recovery is quick and full.

Hoping Davies gets better soon, but this isn't the death knell it would have been in years past. Adekugbe and Laryea are more than capable at fullback, Hoilett is back from injury and he and Buchanan can play the wings. I don't rate Millar myself but he is having a good year and can play wing as well.
