If the NHL had any guts they would burn everyone associated with this and send a message that predators and their enablers have no place in the league or any one they partner with.

It’s a lot easier for them right now because their team is bottoming out. Harder decisions in Winnipeg and Florida, oddly.

Hopefully the correct decision is made in both situations, and both are let go, if they are guilty of inaction.
Completely unacceptable.

Nah. Even if they loved Bowman they would probably have no choice here. No different than Mark Davis letting go of his man crush Jon Gruden. Or the Leafs getting rid of Babcock. Once the evidence is out there, teams really have no choice.

There is no way that this Aldrich was “so good at his job” that “putting up with it” makes any sense at all. What a bunch of idiots.

Tough to say. I don’t think either guy was in a position to act with respect to Aldrich’s job, were they?
I could see some plausible deniability in terms of what was done and what could have been done. Bowman and the executives, not so much.

Agreed. Frankly, this is worse than Peters, and the Flames acted very quickly then.

To me it's different now because they previously said they had no idea. We now know they lied.
Who would cheer for a team with them in management?

Can someone remind me what roles Bergevin and Cheveldayoff held with the Blackhawks at the time?

I think a head coach likely could get rid of one of his subordinates. I’ve never seen a team say “no, head coach, you must accept this video coach”.

They were in enough of a role/responsibility to be part of the discussion. Whistleblow for goodness sake, if you are being silenced.
The inaction caused even more suffering and future events that could have been prevented. This is not hindsight being 20/20 either. He was allowed to get away with it, which emboldened him further.

Also this. They have stated that they were unaware and the report has come out saying they were part of the discussion.

I don't know anything about Chevaldayoff, but Coach Q recently lied and said he knew nothing about it until it hit the media this summer. If he lied to keep up the conspiracy for as long as possible, then he should be done in the NHL.

If he is, he’s there on unrelated charges.

I think I read somewhere he was released from prison in 2014 and had 5 years probation and has to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
