Also, Monahan didn't seem too pleased with being on the wing in his presser yesterday.

Where are you seeing this? Flames site says he's on the fourth line.

Yeah, he made comment about their being no communication to him about it.

Monahan’s play this season has earned him his place down the line-up, but this is the second time this season a player has been demoted and not communicated with - once under Ward (Benny) and now under Sutter (Monahan), this just strikes me as odd.

I can’t imagine there’s very many happy people anywhere in the organization at this point.

Monahan should just be glad he’s in the lineup. He’s completely useless.

Seems like rock bottom for this team is near. Do they bounce off said bottom or languish there for a few years? Gonna be a very interesting summer.

Sorry, should have clarified that what he's basically done since he took over. 4th line is fine now, but not when they were still in the playoff hunt. Little late now to put the plug on the plugger line.

I wouldn't say I'm hoping for a loss but I'm not cheering for a win either.

Go hockey!

Too bad they haven't and are not trying Dube, who seems to have about 100x more upside than Gawdin, at center

He should get used to it. Pretty good odds the next team he suits up for will play him at wing.

I'm not opposed to trying out Gawdin at centre to see if it's something to considering carrying through for the start of next season, but I hope Sutter/Flames haven't completely giving up on Dube as a centre. I would like to see him get an actually fair shot at solidifying that role somewhere within the top 3 lines.

Due to the Bennett situation and how this team has been the past few seasons, my faith in this organization in being able to do the right things and develop youth players properly is nonexistent.

Tough tits about the lack of communication, I didnt think an NHLer had to be told that if you play bad you get demoted.

If Montreal clinches are they going to make Calgary/Vancouver finish out the season? Can the Flames choose to forfeit to solidify their draft position.

Not just Smith, Lowe as well. He hates the Flames 20x more than Smith or any other Oiler.

They'll put in Koskinen for the game tomorrow which is the same as an L. Lowe will call Andy Moog in for the Wed game if they manage to win tomorrow and the Flames win tonight, in order to get the Flames out.

Got to think that the Flames go on a heater here and win 5 in a row to finish, but the Habs get the OTL in their final game against the Oilers.

Not many guys prefer wing over center. But a lot of guys get a new lease on their careers when it happens... Claude Giroux and Joe Thornton are a couple of former centers who have made the transition to wing and it's probably kept them relevant.

I dont really have a take any longer on Monahans situation. This whole season has been a nightmare for everyone 9n the Flames.

I did watch Sutter practice day presser and listened to what he said. "Centers can play anywhere wingers can't" and I'm fine with the tinkering at this point. We aren't going to glean anything new out of this roster this year.

So whatever the Flames do for the next 5 games are pretty much just try outs.

I expect to see effort, but not much else.

I just wish it'd hurry up and end and we can get on with them unveiling their plans as they happen. It's the only thing to look forward to with CGY now.
