Ward's treatment of Bennett at this stage just looks petty. It's a bad look for this team. I hope it becomes a distraction, because this team is operating like a mickey mouse organization.

Losing to the Oilers is one thing

Losing to the Oilers when they didn't have to rely on McDavid and Draisatl to do everything. Absolute joke. Joke of a game, joke of an effort. No excuse

Should have watched the Raptors, down some key players but still getting it done. Flames could take some lessons...

If you gave that person a stick and a jersey, Ward would put him out on the ice ahead of Bennett and Mangiapane. Ward loves his 4th liners.

Good to see Rittich have a decent outing today though. Made some big saves.

We heard after the loss to Dallas that the Flames players were apparently extra disappointed to lose the series because they believed they had cost Geoff Ward the coaching job, as they really liked him. Maybe that should have been the first sign that Geoff Ward is not the right coach for this team?! Why are we giving this team a coach that makes it fun and easy for them but doesn't seem to make them better?

And I've been generally fine with Ward up until recently. I'm also fully aware given the bizarre circumstances of this season that a coaching change is extremely unlikely.

But jesus ####, Gerard Gallant and Bruce Boudreau are both looking like no-brainers at this point.
I think Ward has failed to get buy in. And I like Boudreau (not Gallant). But Boudreau isn’t an ass kicker, if that’s what you’re looking for. He’s a players coach (but maybe in a different and better way).

He probably said something rude and argumentative like, "come on boys let's start trying to win this thing!" Even though he knows that's not the way Ward likes them to play.

The MMA line looked so good for most of the game too. But once again, as soon as the opponent adjusts to our transition game it's curtains.

Treliving needs to do something. A trade, a new coach, both, just can't always be status quo and change out a few spare parts in the off season. Its overdue.

Hate to say I told you so.. I wanted the coach fired for about a year now! Anyone can plainly see this guy should be nowhere near coaching a professional hockey team. Seems like a nice guy, but not a very smart hockey guy. Honestly hope they can lose a couple to Ottawa so maybe Treliving will be smart enough to pull the trigger. And before anyone screams “the core”, I think they have actually been winning despite poor coaching previously, and this year would be an absolute disaster if Markstrom wasn’t our main goalie. He’s probably going to steal the game tomorrow night and save our coach another day.

Some absolutely dumb moves today - Lucic line vs mcdavid line - goal in the back of the net - literally predicted the goal against- then Froese on the ice in the third with 2 min left.. $&@“ I would even rather have Nordstrom on the ice at that point, and lastly if a Bennett trade doesn’t happen, I would be livid if I was Bennett - he wasn’t anywhere near being the worst forward on the team tonight.

Lindholm has been poor offensively even strength - because he keeps dumping and chasing - listening to the coach I bet.

On a positive note - Ritter looks more like himself and Backlund deserves a ton of credit matching up against mcdavid and not allowing any offensive zone time by that oiler line even strength.

Ward as coach has mega Gulutzan vibes with a guy that is just in way over his head.

Get Sutter in here he is likely in Alberta
