Not jerseys I don't think. Hats were reported and I have seen plenty of the 1st rounders not wearing jerseys in the interviews

I know I’m getting way ahead of things, but reading about this guy has me wondering about moving Monny to RW for a [Gaudreau Zarry Monahan] top line.

Zary’s Highlights are very similar to Pelletier.

Flames definitely have “a type” when it comes to forwards.

re: the jersey
Kid said he wanted to play for the Flames. Probably bought it as a good luck charm. Worked!

With the 2020 Draft being hailed as one of the deepest in years, it seems unlikely that he cracks to the uppermost echelon, but he won’t remain on the outside looking in for long. I’d place him in the 15-20 range, but wouldn’t be surprised to see him taken just outside the top-10

He is 19.

I'd say we could see him in a year to two with a possible audition following this camp.

"Zary plays the game in every single fashion," wrote TSN's Craig Button. "A complete centerman."
Quote:
"He’s full of skill, hockey sense, and competitiveness. You can use him in any situation, and he won’t disappoint you," an NHL scout told The Athletic's Pronman.

"Zary is a very smart offensive player. He can make the seam passes and find teammates very well, but also makes plays happen through unconventional ways," Pronman said. "He scored a lot of bad angle goals this season, and he finds teammates in situations where there doesn’t seem to be a play."

A forward drafted at 24 usually doesn't rocket up the depth chart to unseat your current 1C.

I know it's in style to hate on Monahan, but the guy is a 30 goal scorer and as reliable a faceoff man there is.

Really liking the work Brad did here. I think the Flames should just make these picks. Team needs prospects in the cupboard.

there were a number of players i was hoping calgary would pick and Zary was one of them, so pretty happy with the pick...

was a little worried when Calgary traded down, but sounds like Tod Button said that none of the players targeted were taken during either move down and Zary was the top guy in the grouping of 3-4 players they identified.

so Lapierre wasn't on their list nor Foerster... we'll how it pans out in a few years.

I'd also be a fan of flipping the thirds for a second in the first of the round.
