The Presidential Motorcade is huge. There are dozens of vehicles and they have to stop traffic for blocks, which is a huge ordeal in an area like D.C.

I think Marine 1 and its escorts might actually be cheaper, but even if it isn't it's definitely easier to organize.

What most people don't know is when the President moves it is a massive event from a security and intelligence perspective. Air space is closed. Satellites and communication channels are co opted. Local law enforcement is on high alert and adds extra bodies to the support provided by the Secret Service. It is a big ####ing deal when the President decides he wants to go for a drive around the block. It's a bigger deal when he's in the air. None of it is cheap, and is extremely disruptive.

This is a man in denial and trying to put on a brave face. You can see he's working hard to get air. I thought he was faking to get the sympathy vote, but this video gives me pause. This is how people drop dead from this bug.

For sure, that was the video that CNN showed. The guy can barely breathe in my opinion. I understand that the doctors are under Trump's orders because they are officers and he is the Commander in Chief but it seems ridiculous that they would permit him to leave the hospital. They should have more authority.

God, he looks terrible. Good thing he left the hospital and walked around the WH without a mask.
He's out of his mind. People working there will get sick and possibly die because of him. I'd quit. It ain't worth it.

If Trump wants to roll the dice to save face that’s his prerogative. My wife’s Uncle thought he could ride it out at home until he died. Any staffers wandering around the WH without an N95 are true believers and won’t be swayed.

Should not forget that the bluster of trumpism is that the awesome things are always coming and the bad things are always going to just disappear, despite any kind of actionable plans for either. This is no different.

For the record, I don't like the guy, and don't think him leaving hospital was a good idea for the sake of others' health (and his own), but I could easily see any other high profile person getting up on the podium and saying the same type of message (with slightly less ego attached for most).

I wonder if anyone tried to explain to Trump that feeling better doesn't necessarily mean getting better.

He's not a businessman. He's a frightened moron.
No reasonable person would act like this.

This is spiking the football on your own side of mid field.

Fauci is going to be on CNN with Cuomo right away.
I would so love to see him just say eff it, and tear into the White House. Dare Trump to fire him when he's basically the only person close to the administration that anyone trusts.
Also, has anyone heard from Deborah Brix? Any updates on Chris Christie too?
