Does this LSU season rank as one of the best college seasons of all time?
I think it has to.
They went 15-0.
Beat an unprecedented 7 top 10 teams.
Beat the regular season number 3, 4, 5 in the country by a combined score of 142 - 63 (!!!!)

Burrow’s dad played in a few Grey Cups. Won one championship.

Yeah I think there's an argument for it. the top ranked team for a long time has been been Nebraska in 1995. Just looking at the stats for that team
They averaged 50 points a game
beat 4 of the top 10 teams and clobbered them by an average of 23 points
Scored an average of 53 points a game and allowed 14.
Beat Florida for the Championship 62-24.
27 of their players went onto the pros.
I think there can be arguments made for both teams.

Should have got it the first time. Clearly should get it now.
But they won't.

Hazing in sport (and with young men in general) is something that does need to be seriously looked at - let's not fool ourselves that this is a Penn State only issue (although in the context here it's even more despicable).
Junior hockey, college sports, high school sports programs, I think we've all heard of serious hazing issues across all of these levels. And it's not necessarily limited to just sports but any type of hierarchical organization with young men (firefighting and police services have had big issues too).
As a now older generation of men I think we do need to look at this more seriously because I feel like it's something that's kind of had a blind eye turned to it for a while.

both Big 10 and Pac 12 have officially pulled the plug on fall football today. They hope to be able to play in the spring now.

Doubtful, but if anyone does it would be the SEC. Or maybe a combo with the Big12 who also seem determined to play.
Spring football is more likely IMHO but also brings a few issues to the plate. Namely the difficulty for northern schools (ie Big10) since spring football really means January/February start. It also raises the likelihood of many players opting out of playing entirely so as not to risk injury for the NFL draft. Will be interesting to see if the NFL bends a little and works with CFB in the draft to allow for a spring season.

Good luck Big 12, SEC, and ACC in the fall....

Holy cow. Lincoln Riley won't say which position group it is, but says he had one group essentially wiped out -- all but one -- by a COVID test. He said it's a position group that needs "multiple" guys on the field together. #Sooners

Watching Notre Dame vs Duke. I always somehow forget how nice the Irish helmets are. Nicest shade of gold in sports.
Their performance today, on the other hand..

Some good games today, I love watching the more obscure schools.

Georgia Southern had 33 players inactive for their game. They don't break it down (injuries, suspensions, Covid etc.) but that is a very high number and Covid is likely the main cause.

I’ve always had a moral dilemma watching college football. South Park basically sums up my thoughts lol.
But this Covid thing actually bothers me and I’m not sure if I can continue supporting it. I used to think a lot of these guys may at least get an education or maybe even get NFL chances.
But asking unpaid volunteers to put their lives at risk to grow billion dollar endowments might be the last straw. I think I’m done with college ball for a while.
