Chris Streveler has signed with the Arizona Cardinals...
Streveler joins a Cardinals team that starts 2019 No. 1 NFL draft pick Kyler Murray at quarterback. Arizona has Brett Hundley as their current backup QB. He was selected in the fifth round pick, 147th overall of the 2015 NFL draft. Undrafted free agent passer Drew Anderson is the other pivot on the Cardinals roster. Head coach Kliff Kingsbury likes Streveler as a quarterback. Although, Kingsbury is known for having an innovative and creative approach on offence.

LOL what game film was he watching? The guy isn't even a viable CFL starting QB. Little doubt he's been signed strictly to be a Taysom Hill gadget QB but I'm not sure he's as talented as Hill.

Looks like Huf submitted an offer sheet for Argos lineman (and U of C alum) Sean McEwen.
The first offer during the CFL’s new negotiating window has been submitted.
Calgary Stampeders general manager John Hufnagel put in the appropriate paperwork with an offer for Canadian offensive lineman Sean McEwen. The 26-year-old McEwen is a Calgary native and graduate of the University of Calgary. The six-foot-three, 297-pound product of Calgary’s Notre Dame High School played 40 games for the Dinos over his five-year Canada West career.

Probably too rich for the Stamps, but Cory Greenwood is no spring chicken (that said, neither is Solly). Huf historically is not a big player in free agency, but there is a hole in the middle of the defence that needs to be filled.

I'd happily take Greenwood if he wants to come back -- heard he's thinking about retiring, which is too bad because he was solid last year. I didn't realize until after the season that he was already 34, but fortunately there aren't too many miles on him. The fact that he's Canadian is a bonus.

If Solly isn't accepting what the Riders are offering he's going to hate Huff's offer. He would be nice to add on the cheap but he's no longer an elite player nor does he deserve to be paid as such.

He led the West in defensive tackles last year (even though he missed 3 games) and was named an all-star. Big part of a very good defense.
I think he can still play at an elite level, though he is not a long term solution obviously.

Nichols will be the #1 in Toronto, no doubt. But will they have a good enough line to keep him clean? Hamilton should still walk away with the division, but, Ottawa may make it interesting.
I will be very curious to see the East next year

^^ after seeing legit Canadian talent like Durant and Adeleke leave Calgary to go “home”, it’s good to see it work in our favour this time. O-Line is even better.

I sometimes wonder how many guys are now playing in Montreal making much less than they were told they would be by Reed. And there's absolutely nothing they can do now but play out the term of their contract.

A bunch of stuff from Huff today:
Danny Austin
@DannyAustin_9
Quote:
John Hufnagel says the Stamps are not going to be in the market for an American receiver and won’t really look at veteran backup QBs until Day 2 or 3 of free agency.
Are still hoping to get Montell Cozart signed
|
Quote:
Discussions ongoing with Juwan Brescacin, although there are other offers.
Cory Greenwood interested in playing next year, Stamps speaking with him but ratio change on o-line might make that a tough signing.
|
Quote:
John Hufnagel, on whether DaVaris Daniels might be an option in free agency.
"No, I mean, obviously there is something they call the salary cap and I have to work within that."
|
Quote:
Hufnagel was pretty clear on one thing, though. The Stampeders will be active on the first day of free agency
"I think we’ll have more action tomorrow than what you’d normally expect from our organization.”

Disappointed they aren't targeting an american receiver in free agency.
