Nice words about the organization and the city!

The Ottawa 2020 rumours are heating up. Staffing and Facility hurdles aside, can they possibly sell enough season tickets in time for kick off?

I think Ottawa to CPL is happening. Have heard enough smoke from people in other CPL supporters groups who are hearing they were accepted into CPL today.

8 teams looks like a real league, and that perception is huge.
Now we need some good news from Cavalry. Right now the starting 11 looks decimated. Hopefully some great new signings and at least a few of Pasquotti, Hamilton, Malonga, Escalante, and Büscher re-signed would go a long way to build some hype to contend again.

How Pasquotti hasn't been picked up by an MLS time I have no idea.

I don't think his game would translate well enough to MLS. It's enough of a step up where I don't think he'd be effective. He's obviously got a ton of pace, but not technical enough.

Growth in Ontario is critical for the viability of the league. More options for big markets in central Canada is nothing but good news for the league. Ottawa is a perfect market for this; Mississauga and K-W are also great places to expand.

Amer Didic is in the Whitecaps training camp, and it sounds like he may sign on a free transfer.
So Cavalry get a $100k transfer fee for a depth CB/DM, while Edmonton lose their top CB for nothing. FC Edmonton is no good!

Good for him, getting to leave that #### hole Clark Field.

Waterman was signed by Cavalry in December, Didic was not signed. That's on FCE not signing him, although I wonder if Waterman's agent had different advice (a "just in case" scenario). Didic may have never intended on signing on for another season in the CPL at all, regardless of team.

Didic didn't want to play in the CPL to begin with. He only signed in Edmonton to avoid losing a year rotting on the bench in San Antonio...

So then that proves my point. He was only ever here temporarily and wasn't planning to stick around. I wouldn't put that all on FCE to be honest.

If he ends up sticking with the Whitecaps or elsewhere, that's a huge loss for Edmonton. But another feather in the cap of the CPL.

Atlético Madrid is the club.
So, does the Ottawa team go by Ottawa Athletic?

Apparently it will be Atlético Ottawa which is kinda silly. I think that Athlétique Ottawa would make more sense.
Atlético is no sillier then Valor, or Forge I guess, and its not like Cavalry FC is a great name anyways.

Ya, Atletico Ottawa is no worse a name than Cavalry, a name that no one wanted and isn't even original.
