The coyotes have seemingly come out of nowhere this year but I hope the players are taking this game seriously because the coyotes are a good team that can't seem to shake the stigma of being boring even though they have been quite entertaining this year.
The Flames have played the Coyotes twice and surrendered three points to them already. I am certain the players are taking them seriously.

I'm not sure why they keep starting Dube and Gaudreau on the lines they start on. Simply to screw up the match-ups at the start of the game and make the opposition scramble to match as the game goes on?
Rolling 4 lines, aggressive forecheck, activated D, and scoring from all 4 lines is building all sorts of confidence. Go Flames!
For a few years now, the Flames are at their best when they do these things. It always amazes me whenever they aren't doing those things, because that is clearly their recipe for success.

That would be my guess. So far it seems to be working, so as long as the players can handle it, I can see why Ward keeps going back to it.

It looks like the plan was to double shift Johnny as the game goes on, but keep him sheltered early, to match up against weak competition against weak teams. Not a bad plan.
Number of powerplays and penalty kills kind of throw the 'time on ice' stats all out of whack though.
