In pure bitrate it can be, but not all compression logarithms are equal. Amazon's 4K/HDR streams for example have a lot of banding that Netflix's do not, though they both have the same bandwidth requirements.
From the brief look I made earlier today, I'd say D+ is somewhere between the two at the moment (which jives with it's price point), but I'll have to run a few bandwidth comparison tests to get the full picture on bitrate. Much better gradient resolution than Prime fwiw.

Signed up, I'll be watching the first episode of the Mandalorian tonight. There's just a ton of Marvel and Star Wars content.
Star Wars Clone Wars Season 7 is due to roll out in February. as well.
There's a ton of Lego Star Wars content, which was awesome in its time.
Lots of marvel including Peggy Carter.

The Last Jedi isn't available until December. That's probably why it doesn't show up under the Star Wars tab yet.
Solo is the same. It's not listed under Star Wars but shows up with a coming soon message if you search for it.
The Marvel films that aren't available yet are also listed that way.

Why would you actively search for that movie? I'm still trying to forget it. Maybe fanboys working at the Disney+ are trying to make it like the movie never existed.

I just thought it was funny that it wasn't listed under the Star Wars content, I was hoping something more nefarious was in play, but alas, others pointed out to me it's not out until Dec 26th.

ALL ABOARD!

I don't know if there's enough new stuff on here not to cancel my trial until next year. We've seen most of this stuff already.
Mandalorian looks great but I can wait and binge on it later.

I’m watching A New Hope in 4K HDR.
Netflix can go chill itself.

No built in Chromecast support in the mobile app?
edit: apparently will only show the icon when it sees a chromecast on the network.

What does this mean for Star Wars? I assume this is just upscaled with some algorithm faked HDR? Or did they actually go back and re-scan the film at 4k? How do you HDR that?

All those gratuitous CGI additions in stunning 4K.
Never has the ridiculous musical number in Jabba's Palace looked so good.

i am extremely impressed with the lineup. I figured it would be less of a selection and more of a rotation. So far it seems like they havent left off much, if anything at all. totally worth the money

Ok, they don't have Solo and The Last Jedi because of Netflix, I get that. But where are the 2 Ewok movies, the 80's Droids cartoon and the Holiday Special? I want my Bea Arthur in 4K HDR dagnabbit.

High quality film stock masters quite well at 4K, even stuff from the 70s (and especially stuff that's been preserved/remastered as many times as the Original Trilogy).
HDR is usually a post-production process anyway for film (can be integrated during renders for CGI however), so it means one of three things:
a) some poor jackass/team of jackasses had to painstakingly add HDR light functions to every scene
b) they ran a quick and dirty logarithm based HDR pass/multiple passes over the best 4K render they had
c) they did b) then a)
