Yeah she’s been in enough movies you’ve likely seen her even if you didn’t realize. She was also one of the wives in Mad Max Fury Road and was in the awful ScarJo movie rough night.

She was also in that weird ASMR Michelob Super Bowl commercial.

Paul Dano cast as the Riddler in upcoming Batman film. That guy knows how to play a psycho.

Jonah Hill is reportedly out of negotiations to play the Penguin. Josh Gad has also said he's not up for the role.
I guess it's onto the next name on the list of fat actors under 40.

The timing should have a lot to do with Shazam 2. Both Shazam 2 and Black Adam are set to start production this summer. My guess is that they'll space them out. I also see them putting out Shazam 2 before Black Adam, as the characters are set to meet in Shazam 3, and Shazam has kids in it so it's more time sensitive. My guess is we'll see Shazam 2 early 2021 and Black Adam will get pushed back to late 2021.

Danny Devito did a great job as Penguin.
Gotham hired a actor that didn't physically match the Penguin that we all know of and he was a great character.

Yeah, unlikely that Black Adam ends up being the 11th.
Seven already out, Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 2 released within a year. And then The Batman and The Suicide Squad were given 2021 release dates by WB. Very unlikely it beats any of those to the theatres.
Then you got The Flash (2021), Aquaman 2 and Shazam 2.

I saw te Birds of Prey trailer and it looked like a mess of unrelated images.
My 14 year old daughter sees it and she thinks it looks awesome. She has zero knowledge of the comic book characters.
There is definitely something to the idea that teen girls will connect to strong female characters, exactly the same way I loved superheroes as a kid. I'm glad they're making movies like this.

By emphasizing the all-female production team, it means that the movie has to be a success or else future projects featuring an all woman team will be harder to greenlight.
From the perspective of actual female empowerment, I wish that this could happen on a film like the Batman, and not be marketed at all.

Ya it feels like they're pushing this all-female angle too hard, like Ghostbusters did. And like that movie if Birds of Prey isn't good, there will probably be a lot of angry people complaining about mysoginism, instead of looking at the actual criticisms of the movie
I also think trying to put so much hype around a female director/cast is a disservice to all the great movies from female directors that came before. A League of Their Own was directed by a woman and had a majority female cast, and it's a classic. Just judge a movie on it's merits, if it's great and just so happens to be female fronted then bonus
