They shouldn't hope. They should know. They have people who's jobs it is to check these things. Otherwise they come out looking like unprepared morons. Which isn't a good look if you want to run a country. Just ask Justin.

Ugh!

How’s everybody feeling about a minority liberal government that forms a coalition with the ndp. It would mean everything in Alberta getting blocked. Based on the polls it’s beginning to look like a likely scenerio.

Cbc article from today: NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh begins to lay out minority scenario priorities

I'm fine with pretty much all of these things. Doesn't sound like he's going to fight to kill TMX, and ending O&G subsidies is part of the CPC platform anyways.

Overall I think Singh is a demonstrably better kingmaker than May.

Good to see Singh has officially conceded the election.

That might actually be a good strategy for the NDP, they need to stop their vote from bleeding to the Libs like happens often. If people are convinced it will be a minority that is good news for the NDP and the Greens. Freaking nightmare for Alberta though.

I am a little surprised the NDP wouldn't push for PR in that spot but that's probably overplaying their hand.

I honestly don't think it is, considering Trudeau talked about electoral reform in 2015. Getting that done would immediately make Singh the best leader the NDP has ever had from the perspective of ensuring a successful future for his party, even if he never does another single thing right.

Angus Reid poll has the Cons pulling ahead of the Libs at 34 the Libs at 29 andd the NDP at 17 the main reason is a NDP surge.

The polls are all over the place which means that its probably going to be an election night surprise.

A commitment to reduce emissions, to end subsidies for oil companies and to deliver aid to oilpatch workers to transition them out of fossil fuel industries.
Translation: We will kill TMX at the first opportunity continuing the slow asphyxiation of the O&G industry in Canada. We will transition the workers to bogus government union jobs that generate no value and whose only purpose is to get people hooked on being reliant on the government for their income. This ensures a steady and consistent supply of NDP voters as our provincial brethren proved in the Alberta election.

Killing TMX wasn't one of the 6 items, so we're making progress.

I haven't seen any plans by the Greens or NDP in terms of transitioning people from O+G to other jobs, I would expect it would be a huge boost to UI and some training dollars. But most of those workers will simply market their skills outside of the country and we'll see a brain drain.

The rest will end up probably working in retail or lower paying jobs as they have to restart their careers.

They replaced it with a general assault on the Oil patch though. I'm pretty sure that they told him to shut up about it because it would kill the NDP in Sask and Alberta.

This format is much better. Three speakers at a time.

Haha yes.

Fireworks about to start as Trudeau, Scheer and Bernier will debate economy and public finances.

Because it is too sensitive to list at this point. Better for the NDP that he lists the less controversial items for now.

I have absolutely no doubt however, that if the election resulted in a Liberal minority with the NDP providing the swing, that cancelling TMX would be a primary tenet of their co-operation.

I wish the CBC had hired competent translators for all speakers.

CPC declaring themselves the winners of the debate again tonight. Just unbelievable arrogance from that party and if they keep this up - amidst all the other minor pandering - they're going to be swiftly defeated.
