If you watched the press confrences after the debate, it seemed like the media read it as more as the NDP attacking bill 21. I think this ends up more like 2015 when Mulcaire cratered after the hijab thing. Only this time the votes look like they're going to the bloc instead of the liberals.

No surprise Judy Sgro is as corrupt as it comes.

My 12 year olds joke of the day.

“Did you know the Prime Minister of Canada enjoys dressing up in Blackface? Seems hard to believe but it’s Trudeau.

I completely agree, but I could still see it costing him votes in Quebec. Very similar to how the niqab stuff sunk Mulcair in the last election.

^ that's in my riding. Morneau has this in the bag considering Scheer's hostility toward the gay community. This billboard is subliminally reminding us of the contrast.

Is it me or the more we hear about the Liberal party the more it sounds like they have a racism issue with blackface, brown files, comments like this, etc? This is an incredibly dumb thing so say as it kind of shows how out to lunch she is.

He said the same thing (although probably more delicately) in the TVA debate. I suspect that its a bigger issue for the French speaking population than the English.

That said the Bloc are rising in Quebec. At the level they are now, the Conservatives have no chance at a majority. If they rise further - the Liberals will be in the same boat in regards to getting a majority.

Well yeah....Toronto proper rarely goes any direction other than Liberal. The GTA however is a mixed bag.

But I'm curious as to how Scheer has been "hostile" to the gay community?

He hasn't apologised enough about views from years ago and did not walk in enough pride parades.

I mean, consistently voting against their interests for his entire political tenure is pretty hostile.

Not to mention having over a half dozen failson candidates touting things from conversion therapy to anti GSA to the sanctity of marriage (yes, in 2019) on the CPC roster.

Plus I assume its gotta be nice to actually be able to complete a project without constant protesters, red tape, and court appeals. It seems like a $5Billion project costs $15Billion in Canada.

In my opinion its still going to get worse before it gets any better. We are so divided in our own country, and a likely minority government will essentially be a 4 year stand still when it comes to any real progress in the O&G industry.
I donít get the argument that itís going to get worse.

No one is spending capital this year to expand production. Most of the companies hanging in there have failed. No one is buying or funding juniors.
Today can be the status quo without a pipeline for the next 25 years. Is it great? No, Does it solve Albertaís current unemployment? No. Will Alberta still have the highest wages in the country? Probably.

More bankruptcys, more unemployment, more capital leaving the country isn't getting worse?

Can more capital leave?

Did any company expand production this year?

Treading water to keep your business afloat is never a solid plan.

Some can tread for longer, but eventually they'll need something more (better commodity prices, more takeaway capacity, etc) or a lot of them will drown.

You continue to see it at the individual level... The people with little to no savings? They got wiped out years ago. Those that were further along in their careers or had more savings? They might still be hanging on, but for how much longer? Anecdotally, I'm seeing more for sale signs now, than say 2015 - when we were actually in a recession.

That may be true from a "this gets me elected" point of view, but it's a poor way to look at things.

In that case, if there's no issue just following what constituents seemingly want, then Trump is doing a great job.

So NDP released their priorities which you can assume would be the starting point for supporting a Liberal minority:
  • A national universal pharmacare plan and a national dental care plan, delivering affordability and better health to Canadians.
  • A home people can afford, including massive investments in housing, real action on money laundering and a tax on foreign speculators.
  • Beginning to tackle student debt, by taking all interest off of student loans, current and future.
  • A bold plan and concrete action to fight the climate crisis, ending the subsidies to big oil companies, committing to science-based targets and helping workers during the transition from fossil fuels.
  • Making cell phone and internet bills more affordable by putting in place a price cap to make sure that Canadians arenít paying more than the global average for their cell phone and internet bills.
  • Ensuring the super-wealthy are paying their fair share by introducing a super wealth tax, closing tax loopholes, and ending giveaways for the richest companies and individuals.
