I don't really agree with the premise of the protest but I'm all for civil disobedience and collective action as a method over hashtag activism.

I am not looking forward to going home now.

Nothing like sitting in traffic with a 2 year old after day care.

People seemed ok with the pro-pipeline rally where all the trucks blocked traffic most of the afternoon earlier in the year. Don’t recall seeing many people clamouring for police to hand out tickets.

I don't recall them stopping traffic, they were also following the traffic laws. Yes they are slower then cars and you have a basic convoy going, but they weren't pulling into road ways and turning the wheels and pulling the emergency brakes.

Apparently it's already started, and they're blocking traffic to Foothills hospital. Yikes.

I 100% support pipelines, but if a bunch of pro-pipeline activists blocked traffic for the sake of trying to get a message across, I'd be pissed. It's totally unnecessary, and in the case of these "activists", it's also completely counter-productive. What good does it do for these idiots to block everyday people, doctors, teachers, mechanics, service staff from getting to work? Or getting home after a long shift? It accomplishes nothing except probably stir up a whole lot of resentment.

Well if people understood the concept better they probably wouldn’t be so irritated by things others do.

Well this looks like confirmation for Memorial and 10th street from 4-6 today. Godspeed to all of you that drive in that area.

How so? In Halifax the protesters weren't even letting cyclists get across the bridge to get to work. Seems to me they're the ones who don't really understand things. Climate change is something people are becoming more & more aware of. These people are doing zero to help that cause.

"Family friendly atmosphere". Sounds like no open bar, F this protest.

And that is fine, but the majority of people are good with one but not the other is what I am getting at(specially if it doesn’t affect them).(and a bunch of pipeline supporters did basically block traffic and a lot of people did support them( not basing any off CP)

They broke the law...they should be charged.

Just that simple.

You want to gather at the side of the road and yell and scream at motorists in support of your cause? Fill your boots friends.

The very second they stepped foot on the roadway and altered the way traffic was supposed to work and endagering themselves and others, they have crossed a line that is clear to understand and have done so on purpose. That's why they should be arrested and booked. Each and every one of them. Every time it happens.

You have right to free assembly and free speech...but only within the law. Those are the rules and if they are not followed, then there should be mandatory consequences.

I don't remember the pipeline supporters blocking traffic. Often they stood on the crosswalks, but the lights were red anyway. Truly no idea what you are talking about.
