Gio finally recognized of his play
Johnny moving up many spots. All good things to see.
Lindholm having another year like last and in my eyes he will be on this list next year

Rantanen - 23
Point - 24
Aho - 33
Tkachuk - 46
Based on this, Tkachuk should be coming in less FWIW.

I don't think they base contacts on TSN lists

Of course not but I really appreciate you pointing that out. Just a reference point for discussion as it seems a broad survey of hockey people believe they are currently better players.
I guess you think he should be paid more than those guys?

No but it's a broad survey of a handful of Toronto homers...Point should be top 5-10

I don't follow the Leafs that much other then what gets shoved down my throat on various Sports channels. But is there an argument for him constantly being ranked in the top 10, other then he's the 1st overall draft pick in the NHL's biggest hockey market?
He doesn't have an overall career PPG stat line. While his previous 2 season were above PPG, it was only 1.01 and 1.07. Good, but not among the best in the league. He's been injured the past 2 years and hasn't played full seasons since his rookie year. His GPG average is IMO his best stat, but still well below Ovechkin's recent seasons.
Honest questions; so other then his draft position and the Maple Leaf jersey he wears, what exactly makes him a top 10 player seemingly every season?

A handful of homers ... I can't even see whose input they received. In any case, I wasn't even referring to any Leafs players so I still don't see your point.
Point as the #5 player in the league seems crazy high to me.

I don't understand why Burns is always so far ahead of Giordano on these lists

The Score is running its own list - so far no Flames in 80-100...

Well below? Since Matthews entered the league, Ovechkin has 0.54, he has 0.52, Kucherov comes in at 0.51 and of course Spencer Foo rounds out the top four with 0.5.

These lists are as much about branding as anything else. Lets face it Burns is a very marketable player.

I suppose, but this is TSN -- you'd think they would want to market a Canadian star who's the captain of his team. It's not like they'd be scrupled because of the regional rights, either -- TSN doesn't have the Sharks to market over the Flames. IDK, it's just weird. Might understand NHL.com doing it

From what I understand, Matthews is a beast when it comes to goals/60.
This metric is important because he is injured a lot

Should Draisatl really be that high? That seems like a real stretch to me.

Any list that doesn't have Gio as top 2 dman is garbage IMO.

Didn't I just read on here somewhere that Tkachuk wasn't, in fact, our third-best player?
