One of many who is too boring; thinks that there should be rules regarding grammar in custom user titles, and also makes moderators wonder if there is a charachter limit here. I mean come on- you would think that would be a limitation in the software

He doesn't, thankfully. But even if he did, you have already set a high bar for the dumbest suggestion we're going to see on Calgary Puck for the entire campaign.

What you want is no different than the "Lock Her Up" idiocy down south.

Stuff like this shows why people in Alberta should hope and pray that the Liberals and NDP still think they can win seats in Alberta. If Alberta goes back to being a one party province no one besides that party are incentivized to spend political capital pushing their causes. Obviously it works out if the Conservatives win a majority but that's happened once out of the last 8 elections

Indeed - always be a swing state to some degree. I fear by this time next year we will be taken for granted by one party, and treated in an openly hostile manner by (maybe all the other parties) to gain regional support elsewhere. Bad situation.

It was pretty tongue in cheek, and was obviously a mirror on that. It’d probably win home some votes though

Forever an Oiler fan!

The Oilers have better odds of winning the cup than Scheer winning the election.

You are easily the least tolerable poster in this thread. It's just outright trolling at this point.

It is a bad situation. Hypothetically you would definitely want to be Quebec where their vote is 100% for sale at any time, and they move as a herd from Bloc to NDP to Liberal. The first time I could vote in 2008 I voted NDP partially for that reason, to try in a small way to show the Conservatives they shouldn't just take Alberta for granted. Effectively though, you're asking a lot of the Province as a whole to vote for the party that ####ed us over super hard in the hope that they don't #### us over even worse if they didn't have any voting support here. We sent the most Liberal MPs to Ottawa out of any Parliament in the last 30 years and received the killing of two critical pipelines, a bill that many organizations feel will result in never seeing a major pipeline proposed in this country again, and the hypocritical dogcrap tanker ban bill. It's some kind of weird stockholm syndrome to look at all of that and still vote for the Liberals anyway in the hopes to not get it even worse the next four years.

No one wants to see Alberta only support one party ever. But it's tough not to when there's only one party that won't brazenly attack your largest industry.

Not to mention that Scheer doesn't need to do anything to win those votes, he already has them.

A bit of a 'parties don't represent young people because young people don't vote vs. parties don't represent young people so young people don't vote' situation. If Alberta had 20-25 seats that were up for grabs this election, how brazen do you think the attitude towards the industry would be by the other parties?

By attacking the industry they can potentially win some seats with effectively no risk of losing any seats because of it. It was no coincidence the largest funding announcements Calgary got from the CPC happened right before an election where three ridings were under threat of going red.

I'm jealous of people who live in Calgary Confederation because they have a Rhino party candidate to vote for! Really, they should win in a landslide, but people are idiots.

Sweet! Victoria has a candidate, too. Finally, a guilt-free space I can park my vote so that I still have a right to complain after the election.
