Before the all star break Gaudreau, Monahan, Lindholm, Tkachuk combined for 101 goals in the Flames 51 games. Since then they combined for 33 goals in the last 34 games including playoffs.

Luckily the bottom 6 stepped up to help keep us in first but the top lines poor play isn’t just a playoff thing at this point. It’s been going on for a while.

Unfortunately this is true. I don't know what changed but they have lost a lot of their speed and creativity.

The top players just have not looked dangerous offensively in a long long time.

Was thinking about this too.
A big part of it is how the rules seem to change and you can get away with more.
That takes a lot of softer players right out of the mix.
I can't think of any other sport that essentially has a different rule book for the regular season vs playoffs.
