I wouldn't say dirty as it gets. I would say she's as Liberal as it gets. This is the foundation of the party as it's rotten to the core.

Lol, right it’s a partisan issue. I mean when I think of fraudulently claiming residence expenses I definitely have no recollection of Mike Duffy and the criminal trial.

Anyone think the Senate is still relevant, or ever was?

Can you remind me if the CP welcomed him back with open arms like the Liberals did with Sgro?

They seemed happy enough to pay for it.

I do. I think the sober second thought and work they do is very important.

Well, in fairness to Trudeau and the Liberals they are being open and honestly corrupt.

We get to watch the whole thing in real time and with play-by-play.

They just dont care because Trudeau always thought he was Royalty and hes essentially acting like it. Its his Country and he can do what he wants with it.

Just so long as that sober second thought locks Alberta's voice out of national affairs even more disproportionately than the House does, of course.

Good article on the maneuvering needed to allow the former ministers a wide open pulpit to speak on SNC Lavalin.

Quote:
Parliamentary privilege has now become a point of contention in the SNC Lavalin controversy.

Over at Maclean’s, I’ve argued that Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott could use parliamentary privilege to speak about matters that still remain under cabinet confidentiality, but that the issues would have to rise to the level of unconstitutional behaviour on the part of the executive to justify a violation of their privy councillors’ oath and of the deference Parliament should almost always show cabinet confidences.

James Kelly has noted that, while the privilege of free speech exists, it wouldn’t be easy for the two members to find a way to exercise their privilege without the consent of their party or flexibility from the Speaker. Over on Twitter, a few of us have argued that points of privilege, points of order, and other creative mechanisms would almost certainly allow them to speak. The counter-counterargument is that none of these mechanisms would afford Wilson-Raybould and Philpott enough time to say what needs to be said, and that the onus should still be on the Prime Minister to issue a wider waiver.

Probably using similar methods to those that every other county with universal healthcare uses to include pharmaceutical coverage.

Here’s an article that gives a brief breakdown on some of the costs.
https://www.google.ca/amp/s/globalne...dget-2018/amp/

Most people are unaware that over 40% of prescriptions are already paid for through publicly funded coverage from various social assistance programs.

I'm a bit torn on this one. Of course I wonder how this is to be paid for, but at the same time it always seemed a little wrong that you could go to the doctor and find out what's wrong with you, find out the solution and then not be able to afford to actually get the medicine.

Except that they're not. They've been dangling the Pharmacare thing since the last campaign, and yet nothing after 4 years.

New strategy

The relationship between JWR and JT started to Fray because JWR wanted to appoint judges that wouldn't protect LGBTQ rights and were too conservative
