The Flames were first in the Pacific at multiple points last season and still very much in the thick of things in February. They needed to do something. Instead... they made a waiver claim and dealt a 7th for a guy who was out of the league two months later.

Flames come back in the third and win the game in overtime. It becomes their rally point for 2019 and they finish 1st in the West, en route to a Stanley Cup rematch against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Big comebacks are possible. I'm watching Smackdown during the break, and they have comebacks all the time.

The team deserved to go into a slump after they stole a bunch of wins in January. The were winning games without putting in the effort and now they're still not putting in the effort and being rewarded appropriately.
They'll work through it. Nothing to panic about.

Is it time to panic? I feel like it’s time to panic.
The break just seems to have taken the mojo out of this team. 2 weeks ago, I would have said stand pat, but this team needs something if they want to make an attempt at a deep playoff run. Too many guys just look out of sorts.
Bennett, Kylington and the 1st for Stone and Nilsson. It is likely an overpayment, but it fills a lot of holes. Bennett is just too inconsistent, and will struggle to be a top 6 forward on any elite team.

Sitting here at Amelie Arena, I’m hopeful that we can come back and tie this game up. They’re not that far off from this Bolts team, honestly.

perspective, so far this slump is pretty tame. That is not to say it doesn't matter but, happens to everyone

My concern is more how they are playing. Look bad. When is the last time they won an easy game?

Earlier this year I watched the Flyers erase a third period 5-1 deficit against these Lightning. Lost in OT but still...

Tampa really came to play in this one. I watched their game against Florida on Sunday and they looked like they couldn't be bothered to put in much of an effort. Tonight they're all over it.
The whole second line is really disappointing right now. Soft plays galore, Tkachuk's fancy little zone exit chips are getting tiresome. I think unloading Frolik's cap hit this summer will be easier said than done.
Hopefully the Flames can get something positive going in the third, right now the tide is against them and it's up to them to turn it around.

Because the Pacific was garbage. The team wasn't winning last year and BT knew it. You don't spend assets like that when you are at best a bubble team.
The year prior BT paid a 2nd round pick for Lazar. Thank god he added him at the deadline.

Well they looked good last game...very good, were unfortunate IMO
I am not denying they are slumping, but so far its pretty tame.
They flew from Vancouver to Tampa to take on the best team in the NHL, IDK they get a bit of a pass for this game with me

LOL, my fault. I totally missed Vegas in looking at the standings from last year. But Calgary was comfortably in second in the Pacific for a lot of last year. They were 29-19-8 at this point last year and watched as every team around them added. That can't happen again this year. The Flames need to go for it.

Yeah, I'm not advocating for stupid trades that always looked stupid for reclamation projects. This team needs guys who have proven they can score.

People here tend to get a little too high during winning and too low during losing. 82 game seasons have ebbs and flows. We’re in an ebb - no need to overreact. Let’s see how they play their way out of this as a group. Is there reason to believe some tweaking of the lineup would be good? Yes. Is there reason to be overly concerned? No.

They don't look like the sharper of the two teams. And Tampa getting sticks and bodies in the lanes is making the Flames normally top quality passing game look very average.
