Of course.

But getting 16 minutes of no mistakes out of a guy that has played 4 games this year?

That's huge as those are minutes that one of the kids would be making up otherwise.

Sure but those overblowing Prout’s uselessness should also note he was trusted as the 4th d man on the PK and played the same as the other 3 guys while on the PK.

Nice to have that level of depth on call.

Eichel played against our boys like he was a superster... because he is a goddamn superstar. He does this to everyone. Normally we're special because our Backlund line can match them. Tonight they couldn't. This isn't a failure to do their duties, it's just being over matched. It doesn't seem to happen often with our players but it does happen.

I don't like losing either but it happens sometimes..

Dave had an off game. It happens. Take the point and run. That's all I got.

Game Takes:
Sabres 4 Flames 3 (OT)

- Flames toy with an opponent again, get burned
- two points for Gaudreau
- two points for Lindholm
- Rittich gives up three goals on three shots to finish.

Don't bother...anyone who thinks allowing 2 shots in the 3rd period is embarrassing defensive hockey isn't worth talking hockey with

People, to put things into perspective of how well the flames played tonight, think of it this way.

Flames pulled the goalie at the start of third period and lost in OT. It was empty net for 21m 10s

... AND flames ran into penalty trouble, they were penalized 13 times back to back at the start of 3rd and all the way into OT.

Sounds even more impressive now lol

Vegas regulation loss last night.
San Jose regulation loss tonight.
Edmonton barely gets a SO win and Chia still has a job.

That loser point was huge for us tonight.

This coaching staff amazes me at how they can bring out the best in the d-men.

Crazy.. Won 5 in a row didn't make any ground on the Sharks.

Finally lose a game and make up ground on them.

As a goalie its tough to get into the groove of making saves when your team is dominating possession in the offensive zone. Felt like Rittich wasn't sharp as he couldn't feel the puck with saves. Glad we got the point with Vegas and Sharks losing. Move on to Detroit!

Not to mention we're now 5 points up on 3rd (Vegas). If we can get at least 3/4 points out of these last two games before the break, we'll be sitting pretty.

Liked how they battled back down 3-2. Those two Buffalo goals in the third were deflating but hard to fault Rittich on either.

Eichel already hit two posts on good scoring chances so probably lucky coming out of this with a point.

Flames had some good chances too, so you could say the same for Buffalo.
