I think; job culture, union or lack of, actual compensation levels, & fair process would need to be considered (& exercised) before making such an absolute statement.

Maybe. I mean, obviously if a crazy interesting sales position came up then I'd be foolish not to consider it. But making a living solely on commission can really take a toll on ones self. You find yourself doing and saying anything to make sales. With a family now? God, I can't imagine the kind of predatory sales I'd be into to put food on the table.

I haven't seen acorns in ages. They seemingly don't exist in Calgary. I'm sure there's some but I just don't recall ever seeing one.
I'm in Victoria for work. Today, when I arrived at my job site and stepped out of my truck, I saw a bunch on the ground. Literally hundreds.
Above, where I parked, there was a gigantic tree that was starting to lose some of it's leaves, which were scattered on the ground.
I remember, as a kid, my dad always pointing out their leaves on the ground. He always wanted us to know exactly how to spot an Oak and I've never forgotten. Other than a Maple, I probably couldn't positively identify any other leaf, to be honest. He'd bring home random acorns and be so happy that he saw such a beautiful tree. He was passionate about nature and his favorite tree, by far, was the mighty Oak. I even have an oak leaf sitting beside his urn at home.
Today was is the 3rd anniversary of his death.
I don't know what, afterlife wise, I believe in...but I think it was a hello.
So today, and every day, Oak trees rmmh

Sorry. I made it sound like new episodes. I’m just glad it’s back on TV even if it’s just repeats.

Spending a day at the curling rink and working on home improvements, and then a Saturday evening playing board games with my family and listening to CKUA. Don't know which makes me happier. I suppose 3 GNTs and some craft beer help also. Then, seeing Johny score the overtime beauty. Just a perfect day, and I say that anti-ironically.
This post could have gone into that drinking and posting thread as well - like a drunken puck on a Saturday night - but that is another musical allusion altogether :-)

My brother was diagnosed with Spinal Stenosis a few months ago and has been humming and hawing about surgery. Tonight he phoned and said he has an appointment set up with the surgeon this week and will follow his recommendations and have surgery done on his neck and lower spine. As a family we were able to convince him that without surgery he would end up in a wheel chair.

Most people dont know this but those seats are also part of a game where if you sit in them long enough you get to keep them!
Kind of like those games where the last person touching the truck wins it.
So dont leave when they tell you its time to go, thats how they get you!

I think I had an Orange-crowned warbler in my yard yesterday, like this:
Can't think what else it could be.

I just replaced a power window regulator in my car. I think it's a pretty simple fix, but for me it's a huge achievement. It exorcises a few personal demons.
