The suspension should have been during the regular season where games matter.
Should be added to the next CBA. Really if the players reject it they are saying player safety doesnt matter.
Maybe the players salery could go to a fund for players with injuries that have caused early retirement.

I like in the Garbutt fight how they were going on and on about the garbage hit on Ekman Larsson which looked pretty clean to me.
The Vlasic clip was just as bad: They repeatedly say it was a shot from behind. Then on the 4th replay you get, "I'm not saying that was a penalty by Vlasic, but you better be ready to go." So if you hit Domi, even if it's clean, you better be ready for him to get up throwing haymakers??
Is there video evidence of Ekblad hacking and slashing him all night? Honest question, I haven't seen it.
Not that it excuses Domi at all. It's still a gutless sucker punch.
I seen video of him cross checking Domi in the ribs and giving him a couple weak slashes. That's how Ekblad plays. So he mite want to learn to back it up, or real it in.
Domi is a fake tough guy that doesn't fair well at all in fights when he can't get the drop on the other guy.
Getting the jump has been a trend for this guy:
They should have given him some regular season games to make an example.
It's pretty frustrating to me that a guy who does something premeditated like this gets a slap on the wrist, and Cogliano who has been squeaky clean his entire career gets his ironman streak ended by suspension for a poor decision, but unintentional and ultimately harmless play.
They should stop hiring former goons to be the head of player safety. It's a joke.
Each time the Play-by-play guys praised him for it too. What a joke. Good on him for being the first guy to come to the defence of his teammates but nobody squared up with him, he just starts throwing punches, what a classless and dangerous thing to do.

So he plays the same way Domi and a ton of other players in the league play?
That doesn't warrant a sucker punch to the face.

I'll admit, I loved him smashing Kesler, but this is absolutely unacceptable. No honor in that BS. That's a dirty a sucker punch as it comes.
This is disrespecting the game. We have to protect guys from head injuries. Although I admit I love some old school hockey, this isn't it. And my enjoyment, should be secondary to players health when they retire and have to deal with the health problems that happen from taking to many knocks to the melon...
Should have at least gotten suspended regular season games. How many, IDK...
