Italy with another draw today and have only won 1 of their 6 matches in 2018. Not really a fan of the Mancini hire - wish they would have been patient, read the tea leaves on Conte at Chelsea and had waited to get him back. Under no circumstances should Balotelli be starting ahead of Belotti or Immobile in 2018.

I think he's experimenting with Balotelli to see what he's got. Does he have a gamebreaker or a floater? As you know full well, Italy couldn't break down Sweden for 180 minutes. Belotti and Immobile are more of the same. Balotelli at his best put the other team on their heels.

Balotelli sucks. The dream of him being good has been over for a long while. I really like the guy, but they need to move on.

I just read that, good to know that hes in good with Low and the DFB because despite that he plays for a filthy Manchester team I like him as a player and want to see him play well for Germany in the future.
On a related note....WTF is this BS International tournament? The World Cup just ended a month ago and now we have some other half-assed International tournament? League play just started and they're cramming more goddamned useless International fixtures in?
Didnt major clubs like Real, Barca, Bayern, etc. complain like hell for years that their players have too many matches because of overly bloated international fixtures?
I thought they trying to pare down the number of internationals not add some third rate tournament a month after the World Cup.

it's replacing friendlies, there is no extra football. In fact, it doubles as Euro 2020 qualifying so there will be less football. It's complicated. There will be a League D team in Euro 2020, like the Faroe Islands
It's really Europe's way of developing small teams and no longer wanting to play non-european friendlies

I hate international breaks in general and this one is just way too early.

It seems crazy to me, the domestic season isnt even a month old.
They had last season, a couple weeks off, the World Cup, a couple weeks off, the domestic season and now an International break?

How long does this Nations League Tournament go on for?
I guess in some respects it offers International Managers opportunities to try new players and formations in a Tournament that comes with a lot less pressure, but in the meantime its not all that interesting.
Can Russia win it all?

the last group games are in November. The final 4 play in June.
I still think it's great. It's not like those are extra games, they are just done instead of meaningless friendlies. And no, Russia can't win it all - the final 4 will consist of the group winners in league A. Russia is in league B.

What do you think of the league D winner qualifying for Euro 2020!?
They will be playing qualifiers while already qualified!

league D teams will never qualify. It's nice of the UEFA to dangle that carrot in front of those little teams, but obviously they'll get crushed
EDIT: actually I might have misread the rules, looks like they get a spot. Oh well.

Its going to be a very watered down tournament now so its no great loss.

Mohamed Salah is returning to Liverpool after suffering a muscle injury while on international duty with Egypt.
Salah scored directly from a corner in the first half against Swaziland before his injury occurred in the 88th minute.
Those Liverpool players not on national team duty were given time off over the international break and report back to Melwood on Monday as preparations for next Saturday's trip to Huddersfield Town begin.

We shouldnt need Salah to take points from Huddersfield, but hopefully the injury isnt too serious.

watching Germany these days is awesome.
Boateng is fading faster than Rooney, pretty incredible. He's done at this level.

Germany's collapse this year has really been something. That defense is simply abysmal.

Yes, but your abysmal taste in soccer teams is well documented.
Its a shame Bayern didnt sell Boateng to United this summer.

sorry, but it's impossible for Austrians to not feel Schadenfreude when it comes to Germany
bullet dodged for sure. The wheels are flying off fast and he would have been crushed in the PL.
