Wotherspoon. He got shafted here, hope he emerges in St. Louis.

Dan Ryder - seemed like a kid with potential until his personal issues caught up with him. Even after things went off the rails I was still following his story. Sad to see a bright future completely derailed by pyschlogical issues.

Paul Byron.
He took a while to develop. And when he finally emerged we shipped him away.
Always a fan of the little guy in hockey.

I still firmly believe he has what it takes to be a #4 on a team. Hopefully he can become J-Bo's replacement.

Too bad the dude loves Trump (still).
Saw that he liked a Tweet listing all the celebrities to boycott for saying mean things to Trump.

Don't the Gaudreaus, too?
I tend to prefer to keep politics and hockey separate. I like Wotherspoon because he's good at hockey. It's a little disappointing if he supports the President, but at the end of the day, it's easy to keep out of my mind.

How did he get shafted? He was consistently mediocre in training camp

Martin St. Louis - seems like he was always being mistreated when he was with the Flames, playing 4th line minutes or sitting at the press box.
And then, after he was discarded by the Flames, he came back with Tampa Bay and burned us.....

I agree. I think he was given more than a fair shot. He played 30 NHL games and not once did I think he looked like he could be more than a 7th defenseman. I never understood the desire to play him.

I had high hopes for Aaron Marvin.
He was high school teammates with TJ Oshie. Was big, mean (dirty) and could skate

Yeah I thought Wotherspoon got his chances and never really impressed at all.

I thought Wotherspoon had some impressive games (remember that slap-pass to set-up Westgarth of all people?).
I just thought he would always kind of fade. However, in following his career, it seems like he is a kid that just needs to play, and suddenly a switch goes off. I think he will eventually become an every-day NHL'er - possibly a 4th defencemen.
I, however, fail to see how in any way this kid got shafted. He has received opportunities, and he just didn't make the cut (or continued to make it). Wish him well, but in no way did the Flames do wrong to him.

Yup, and he got into 30 regular season and 6 playoff games with the Flames.
Prior to last season, Kulak also had 30 games played. Kulak turned himself into an NHL regular when given the chance. Wotherspoon never did.

I never saw his desire to play.
If you want to see drive, look at Valimaki. The kid wants it, and oozes the confidence to make it happen.

For some reason, I was a crazy fan of a bunch of those 'young guns' era players. Tabaracci, Trefilov, Fleury, Bure, Savard. Out of all of them, Trefilov was my favourite. I even had a song about him that I would sing in the shower.

Tabaracci is one of my favourite Flames of all time. I still have news paper cut outs of pictures of him making saves, and a signed goalie stick I got from him at some grand opening of a grocery store haha.
