Calls a former Obama aid a monkey, and then goes after Soros and Muslims. In response the resurgent Roseanne show is cancelled, and Barr's management company says "Screw this" and walks away.

I think ABC made the wrong call on this, but I understand why they did.
This is just bizarre. The original Roseanne show was actually quite progressive dealing with a lot of issues like homosexuality, teenage pregnancy, and abortion...she even tried to run for the Green Party. Now she's making blatantly racist tweets? Is this just for the publicity for the show? Either way, totally unacceptable.

They should just continue the show but replace her with Ellen.
Dont people realize by now that Facebook, twitter, snapchat, instagram and all these other social media hubs are like speaking through a megaphone? She must have known that wouldn't end well.

No, they made the right call. Most of the other people will find jobs on other shows eventually. Also, it's part of the business that shows get cancelled. Every single person who worked on the show knew it would happen at some point. Cancelling a show because the star is a repugnant racist is, in fact, a better reason than cancelling a show because it drew a 3.2 rating instead of the expected 3.4.

Roseanne is the only one at fault, she knows the show is revolving around her. ABC had no choice but to cancel the show. Its a PR nightmare if they swept this under the rug and let her continue on with it.
The first tweet seemed like progress.... Then not so much. Yes Roseanne you deserved what you got. Even if she doesn't think it was that bad, I can't possible see how she could conceive that a major television network would allow her to headline a show after making comments like that. It'd be both a moral and business disaster.
I feel a little bad for the cast and crew, but Roseanne has been in kook territory for quite a while now. When they agreed to do the show, they surely knew deep down there was a better than average chance Roseanne would say/do something disastrous that would blow up the show. Unfortunately for them the show was far more successful than anticipated, so this hurts a bit more. But still, you know who you're working with.
Also, Roseanne is going with a defense I haven't seen in a while: The Ambien Defense. So add being a racist to the side effects of Ambien.

The fact the new show was so popular, despite Roseanne's unsavoury public image, hasn't been lost on TV producers. It wouldn't surprise me at all if we see a blatant rip-off next year. Blue-collar family, Red state, politically incorrect or controversial (but not too controversial) star.
