Save 9 million on Brouwer/Brodie
Bobby Ryan can be bought out next year if he can't find his game. (Buying out his contract doesn't cost flames too much, its not all signing bonuses like Lucic)
Flames get a lottery pick this year (Dahlin/Tkachuk)
Brodie is expendable with all the Defensive depth in the system (also somewhat replaced by Oduya)

There is no chance that the Sens trade their 1st. That's the exact opposite of a rebuild.

Could be price they have to pay to unload Bobby Ryan's contract.
Part of rebuilding is clearing cap space.
This is just my proposal if 3 way deal. I think its good for everyone. Ottawa gets 2 young very solid, proven D men and a first back. As well as a good offensive D man prospect.

Well, they're already throwing Karlsson in with him - I would have thought that would be enough.

Throwing Karlsson in with Ryan? Other way around.
In order to get rid of Ryan, Ottawa will have to pay a price or obtain less in a Karlsson deal.

per HNIC, Yzerman has offered 5 pieces which are picks and prospects - doesn't want to give up a roster player but Ottawa is insisting a roster player like Point, Gourde, or Namestikov be included.
Also said that Karlsson wants to be traded and Ottawa is trying hard to finalize a deal.

Would the Sens take Foote, Howden, Cirelli, Raddysh, Hajek and a 1st? Pretty much all of Tampa’s best prospects for arguably the best dman in the world

^and if Ryan has to go back, I’m guessing Tampa sends back guys like Callahan and coburn to even out the cap

This actually would not surprise me at all.
Vegas has a boat load of trade chips and are already in a position to add.

I dont really understand this from Tampa's perspective. Sergachev may very well be the next Karlsson and they already have a franchise defenseman in Hedman. Are they going to give Sergachev second pairing minutes for the next 5 years while Karlsson and Hedman man the first pair?

My question with TB is if they acquire Karlsson where are they going to get the cap space to give him a new deal plus sign Kucherov?

I doubt they have any intention of re-upping him.
He is purely a 2 playoff run rental is my guess.

Maybe one day the Flames will be a top team in the league with all their picks and stacked prospect pool so we will be able to add a 27 year old multiple Norris winning Dman to our already stacked D core.
Maybe one day.....
