Shouldn't there be a video for Tkachuk's?

Gudas is the next dangerous clown they need to get out of the league.

Gudas got what he deserved. Now my only question is why did Perrault not get anything for crosschecking him across the back of the head and knocking his helmet off?

And the Watson thing happens 2-3 times per game. They may become more harsh on those suspensions but they need to wait until somebody breaks their neck or back. This type of hit pisses me off more than just about anything else in hockey.
Stupid NHL.

My guess is because Perrault didn’t cross-check Gudas in the head.

Personally I would have liked to see Gudas get more than 10, but 10 is still a pretty significant number. I suppose it will do.

Gudas is becoming the new Marchment. Dirty plays just for the sake of doing them. I'm surprised that he didn't decapitate Perreault. He says it wasn't intentional, but that's one of those "accidentally on-purpose" plays that he does all the time in a scrum.

I know it's the rule, but I still find it insane that witkowski or whatever his name is, and gudas have the same length of suspension for acts that are miles apart in terms of potential injury.

This 10 game suspension means we don’t play him at all this season because we play the Flyers again before his suspension is up.

Gudas is a clown and I can't believe he's employed over a guy like Iggy who is just as tough but will chip in offensively.

Gudas is actually a pretty effective player when he isn't doing stupid stuff like this.

Gudas attack falls into the category of unfortunate accident. All hits looks way worse in slomo. Gudas suspension is because of his reputation. The NHL safety video implies as much.

Maybe I haven't watched it enough times, but I don't see malicious intent on Gudas' part there. It looks like a guy who wants to get his stick back on the ice to receive the puck if it pops out of the scrum. When the stick comes down, his eyes are already looking back for the puck -- he's not targeting the head. Careless, not malicious.
I think his reputation is colouring the way this is seen. But then, I also saw the Wideman thing as unintentional... and I know how popular that opinion is.

I see a guy trying to chop wood not trying to get his stick back on the ice. This was the old "I see you but I'm going to pretend I don't" play we see every game but not just shoulder bumping or the strong stick drive by.

After watching the first few angles, I was ready to come in here and wonder what all the hoopla was about. It looked mostly incidental. But the last angle, that is right on the back of Gudas' jersey, that to me is the incriminating evidence. He wasn't trying to regain his balance in a corner battle, that was a two handed lumber chop.
I think as fans we all jump to conclusions that anytime this happens we envision a scene from Game of Thrones (Marty Mcsorley excluded). I doubt Gudas wanted to chop at the head, but I think in the heat of that battle he fully intended to drop the lumber. Wreckless use of his stick. I think the 10 is fully justified.
