When the top line loses posession in deep, it takes a good 7 seconds before seeing jagr back in the play

That last year for Hudler he could hardly skate. Would definitely be nice if Jagr could atleast make it to the dzone tho gaha.

It’s only concerning if the top line isn’t producing. Gaudreau has 1.5 PPG despite having played with at least 4 different right wingers in 6 games.

Jagr's reach makes up for at least one of the steps he has lost.

4 wingers in 6 games... that's my point. Thank you for making it.
Jagr is not a long term solution. If manages to have a successful contributory season on that top line, that's awesome. But that's a linear thought IMO.
Reality is that Johnny's pace is likely unsustainable and then what? Jagr is going to drive the play? Unlikely. He's a nice add and stop-gap but organizationally, long term, we need to find someone who is NHL ready and able to take on the role for top line RW but be able to play at both ends.
I'm not saying Jagr isn't good enough, for now. I'm saying he's good enough for now, but he is not a long term solution.
With everyone having Jagr fever right now, I am concerned about the post Jagr era. I hope the Flames can find someone to come in and learn this season and be able to step in next year as a top flight RW.

Who would you suggest? What assets are you willing to move to get a young, up and coming right wing. This is not one of those quick easy solutions and I would be interested to see what you would suggest.

The time for long term thinking is over. Flames are all in.
Jagr is the solution for THIS SEASON. Next season we'll trade another 1st + and acquire a late 20 something year old top end RW. Maybe we'll fleece Boston again and acquire Pastrnak.
Relax and enjoy the ride this year.

I like it. Ferland and Bennett had some pretty good chemistry in 2016 under Hartley; I remember them hooking up for some nice goals. I think the other winger was Bouma and he botched a bunch of wide open nets though. Versteeg should be an upgrade.

It would be a tremendous boost if that line could gel and offer some secondary scoring and play solid defense.
I dont like the chances of that happening though....all 3 have struggled and have question marks around them thus far this season.

I also like Bennett - Ferland as a pair. I think it could help both of them to simplify their games, which is one of my biggest complaints about both of their games so far. Getting a few momentum-building cycle shifts together to build up their confidence again would be huge.
