Sometimes I think he is one of the more forgotten draft picks from the 2016 draft. Maybe for good reason, as he isn't particularly lighting up the SHL.
32gp 2g 4a 6pts +2
However, it is important to remember a few things. He is the youngest player on the team and this is his first full season in a men's league.
He does seem to be earning more of the coach's trust as TOI is increasing recently. He was averaging less than 10 mins/g to start the season and now has 15 mins plus in his last 10 matches. Also recently got some PP time. However as this article points out Skelleftea is getting some players back from injury and the WJC so that might decrease again.

Playing full time in the SHL at 18 is very impressive. He has three junior aged teammates that all made the WJC team (Soderlund, Wingerli, Olsson). We'll have to see what he rest of the season has in store for him.
I'd expect him to be on the WJC team next year and to come over maybe the year after that. It's easy to forget a guy playing over seas but there is some serious upside in this guy.

I believe Calgary said they even had him ranked ahead of Adam Fox in last year's draft, too.
They did. The reason they took Fox was because they wanted a puck moving d-man and didn't have many left on their list and didn't project him to be there when they picked next.
Conversely they still had a few players with Lindstrom's skill set on the list that they could gamble with not selecting him in the 3rd round.
That 2016 draft could turn out being one heck of a draft year by the Flames. fingers crossed, knock on wood...

Also, yeah, I'm stupid, since you can't be drafted when you're 17... oops.

I got the chance to see Lindström play tonight, when Karlskrona (KHK) faced of against Skellefteå (SAIK) in the SHL. Skellefteå is a top team, while Karlskrona are placed at the bottom. He got 14.39 minutes of playing time (third line). In the end of the second and beginning of the third his line played less minutes, as SAIK was playing the top lines, chasing goals after being down 3-1 (which turned out to be the final score) after the second period. Don't think he got any playing time on special teams.
What I really liked was his hockey IQ. He seemed to be going to the right places all the time, however being outskated by older, faster players. Liked his stick skills, he played the puck well, setting up some nice passes. Didn't´t look out of place, despite being one of the youngest players on the ice.
