Lol, wow. So the guy who originally posted the Iggy to Calgary rumor has only 24 posts, and all but the ones about the rumor are about how great the Oilers are and how much the Flames and CP suck. Man he trolled CP hard, must have been laughing his 12 year old ass off.

What a clever undercover mission. They earned an extra dingdong in their lunchbox to be sure.

I've heard directly from Burke and from someone else VERY high up at the Flames that they are not pursuing Iginla. They want youth.

Except that this was the latest tidbit, and CroCop has been correct about things before.

Really? And how recently is it you "heard" this directly from Burke?

Good. Johnny had two moves last year. Either take on one or two D-men by himself, or button hook at the blueline and wait for slow linemates to catch up. Iggy probably doesn't help that.

The Burke comment was probably a joke.
Good one jeromer, good one Oil fans. A little embarrassed at how hard CP bit on that rumour, all due to the mention of a 'source'. ####.
We need to vet these rumour starters the way Trump would vet his immigrants.

I heard from some guy wearing a Flames ballcap in West Edmonton Mall that he's hearing that Iginla will be traded for Jyrki Jokipakka by the end of the week, perhaps sooner. Don't ask me how that'll happen, they're both UFAs, but a source is a source, man.

This. It doesn't seem that he is in a position to be turning down offers unless he already has an agreement to play for a different team. As rumoured, it could be that it was down to just Calgary and Boston. Perhaps the Bruins already have a gentlemen's agreement but just need to resolve the Pastrnak situation before committing to Jarome?

"If" it is true and I doubt it is, if the GM thinks he would make the team better and he turned it down, it's not a good thing.

"If" the complete rumour is true, he turned down Calgary because he already had an offer from Boston. So, according to the rumour, he would be in a position to turn down offers, no matter how butthurt certain fans may get afterwards.
Plus, if he picks Boston, it's to do with his house/family. Nothing to do with the cup at this point. So, why all the butthurt?

If you read it in Rick's voice and then imagine Morty saying "yeah, I guess" it has equally entertaining effect.

I'm not sure I buy these rumours at all.

Not asking you to believe anything, I'm simply sharing some information i received from a very reliable source who has told me news well before it happened in the past. (Engelland signing in Vegas, Pursuit of Hamonic)
Simply adding the Chaisson information for credibility as it hasn't been reported by any of the media (also dont know if its a one way two way or PTO)

FWIW
I was sitting in Bankers Hall, and overheard two guys talking in front of Opa saying that Burkie reached out to Iginla about playing in Germany.
Sources were one white guy(6'2") and one brown guy (5'8").
They sounded very reliable.

Jeromer may have trolled CP, but between CroCop and Iggy I'm inclined to think he's going family first on this to sign with Boston.
Disappointing for all those hoping he'd have one last storybook hurrah season with us, but perhaps it was for the best decision for both parties.
