Over-rated: Brett Kulak. Maybe I'm missing something but I just don't see a whole lot there. He had his moments in the season but he was guilty of a lot of bad giveaways and poor decision making. I also don't understand the concern that he will be taken in the draft; if he is taken it's a small loss to the Flames.
Under-rated: Morgan Klimchuk. I think a lot of people gave up on him after a poor first pro season. His offense improved greatly last season, and he and Jankowski were very consistent scorers; even when the team was slumping badly these two were still putting up points.
Dark Horse: Obvious is Hathaway, but I think we'll see some time from one of Jankowski or Andrew Mangiapane next season.

I only saw a few shifts, but he moves the puck pretty well. Decision making is decent too. There is definitely some potential there.

I like the choice of Poirier as dark horse. Maybe not to necessarily play a bunch of games in the NHL next season, but now that we're able to put a face to the name of what may have been ailing him the past while, I'm optimistic that he may be able to realize some decent potential.

Overrated - Hathaway. I think he gets extra love because he isn't Bouma.
Underrated - Mangiapane. he has the stigma of a small player but he is the similar size and weight as Marchand, Eberle, Versteeg, and you could go on. He is a lot younger and may fill out a bit more.
Darkhorse - Andersson.

Overrated - Jankowski
Underrated - Parsons
The Latter - Seriously, memorial cup winner, USA gold (U-20), and just solid numbers as a goalie.
The Former - Mark Jankowski is borderline being overhyped right now, especially now that Treliving and company have basically said he's got a spot on the roster unless he blows a tire in training camp. But now it seems like people are proposing Backlund should be traded because "we already have an elite, two-way centre in the pipes with Jankowski" (not that anyone said that or proposed that, but generally excessive hype).

I was surprised when it took 3 pages to see Janko come up.
Is it too late to say...
Underrated = Jankowski;
Overrated = Jankowski;
Dark Horse = Jankowski
?

Overrated: Kylington (still too many mistakes, not enough offense if that's his thing) is up there, but definitely Hathaway. Hathaway's only bright spot was that despite constantly getting absolutely owned and playing very few minutes, he happened to get inserted into the lineup while the Flames were on a couple hot streaks. If he plays more than ten games in the NHL next year I'll be amazed. Heck, for the rest of his career.
Underrated: I really like Fox, but haven't seen much of him. Falkovsky?
Dark horse: Jankowski?

Over rated: Easily Kulak. Like by a country mile. Then I guess Kylington as well? but I'm also firmly in the camp that pumps up kylingtons tires. He's going to get it clicking in his head very soon and then boom, All Star caliber d man.
Dark Horse? Mitchell Mattsson.

Underrated: Kylington.
He's played 4 years of professional hockey and he's only 20 years old.
He's a top 4 dman for our AHL team. D men need plenty of seasoning but he has a lot of tools.
Be patient with him; he's a big asset for this franchise.

lol... same.
Kid is a lightning rod for thread derailment... not his fault of course... but people have very strong opinions on him....stronger than any prospect i can remember to be honest.
i've decided to use "fight club" rules to guide my own posts on Janko...as much as possible at least
i think Dube is my pick for underrated though and maybe Andersson a close second.

I think there's enough there to be a bottom pair defenseman, but I'm think he's more of a Darnell Nurse-type strong skating 3rd pair guy than a stud of any sort. Matt Bartkowski may even be a comparable, a guy who would do a lot better with a puck mover than as the puck-mover.

Sorry, I guess BT read my post and decided to trade Hickey.
I guess I should have said Kanzig.
