I was gonna take a game off.. but these lines are pretty close to what I predicted prior to the preseason taking off, so I will suffer though another game where we lose and end up spending 50 pages of posts raging about not nabbing Bruce.

These pairs seem better. Maybe we can win a game again with these lines even!

I like this for not one but two reasons

1) Chiasson off the first line replaced by Brouwer, who is a third wheel type player at his core rather than a play driver. This makes him good with Gaudreau, and I actually think Monahan's been playing well for the last handful of games, at least to the level I expect of Sean Monahan.

2) I prefer Ferland-Bennett over Bennett-Brouwer as a primary player pair. Ferland just drives play better in all three zones with his strong skating. Chiasson is filler and I would prefer Stajan or Freddie there. I did like Ferland-Bennett-Brouwer as a line though. But Johnny/Monny are bleeding.

Consistency is key here too.

Maybe Dougie needs to sit, given his last few games.

As long as the team is playing like scared kittens the line combinations won't matter.

That the pairings are still all over the map this far into the season;

and that despite all the problems he hasn't cemented the Brodie Giordano pairing together might be the biggest reason I question Eakins' ...er Gulatzen's ability to coach this team.

One of the best pairings in the league over the last 2 seasons, and our biggest issue is defense this season, and he refuses to keep these 2 together for more than a game.

I would love to hear his reasoning for this.

Especially since the team is totally void of confidence right now.

Stick with the things that work, and build around them.

Plenty of time to work with Brodie on the left side when they aren't in desperation mode.

#Flames LW Matthew Tkachuk likely to return to lineup Tuesday in Minnesota. C/RW Linden Vey getting X-Ray on arm today. Update tomorrow.

Dougie totally needs to sit.

In his last four games he has zero points and is a -10.

Seems like his decision making is becoming worse game by game.
