I am upset.

Close one, scoreboard wise at least. Couple of mistakes back of our net. Frustrating. Still have to be better and get an effort for a full 60. Not quite the same team from the road trip. Get back to that, Flames. and get back in the W column in Chicago.

That wasn't a terrible game. They hung in there against a very good team

Need Johnny to get going
Gio can be much better

Elliott was great

Tuff break.

The Caps are the Caps. Probably a top 3 team in the NHL.

The Caps are a very strong team. Can't win em all. It actually felt pretty even after the first ~10 minutes of the first period

If Gaudreau doesnt get going soon were going to be in trouble. Our depth can only hold up the fort for so long

correct, but i think the score flattered the Flames. Elliott really held the game close. it never really felt like the Flames were ever gaining any momentum to come back

Not a bad game. Just a frustrating one with a negative result.

More mad about losing my fantasy league this week thanks to that empty netter than this loss.

Washington is good and has so much talent. I don't know how they fit themselves under the cap.

Well at least Brodie was lookin' good. Broke up a lot of developing plays and stopped a couple cycles. Other than that we had a lot of perimeter shots imo Holtby didn't have to make a lot of big saves.

Best part of the game was reading the armchair psychiatry diagnoses.

Overall they played well against a very good team...special teams could have been the difference. Getting really tired of the passive box on pk and the lack of quick puck movement and shots on net on the PP.

I thought the Flames played well, overall...but their 3 best players just aren't clicking ...

Brodie looks great while the other team has the puck...but offensively, he's making poor passes and poor decisions...

... Monohan looks lost...Gaudreau not much better.

I don't think Wideman is too slow, I actually think he's being lazy...just not interested in doing what it takes to win.

Other than those players, I thought it was a solid effort... Elliott looked great, for sure.

Coaches forgot how to coach again? Or top players were invisible once again? I don't understand how these guys can look so good effort wise then look terrible the next game and can't make a pass or can't even play the cycle because they keep getting the puck picked off along the boards. The effort and back checking was embarrassing. This game should have been 8-1.

Chiasson isn't a first line player and he's really hurting the top line with his bad passes. Monahan and Gaudreau look so frustrated. They're used to Hudler who knew how to pass and join the play.

Thought the Flames matched up pretty well, just needed the execution. Monahan and Gaudreau need to get going here. I wouldn't mind Bennett and Monahan switching with each other for a few games. Brodie and Elliott was solid tonight. The Gio and Wideman pairing isn't working anymore. I'd like to made a few adjustments to the lines for Tuesday.

Gaudreau - Bennett - Brouwer
Versteeg - Monahan - Chiasson
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Ferland - Stajan - Bouma

Brodie - Hamilton
Jokipakka - Giordano
Engelland - Wideman/Kulak
